This is an outstanding song, Hailey is hitting all the pistons with expert execution, the vocals, her stage presence, emoting, phrasing, pitch control, artistic expressiveness, country sound and pronunciation, the ensemble performance perfect. It is a transporting song taking the listener outside of him or herself. The idea that we can "damn" a month for a lost love or the sun is a great new use of lyrics and the idea that the recurrence of that month brings back the memory of that lost love is truly poetic showing me that the Canadians here have mastered the form. Does Hailey want to be a country singer or a pop singer? or Both? I'm a native Texan and a singer and I can't pull off the country feel she expresses in her singing. Love that song - and damn you Hailey for stealing my heart.
