I hear you brother, i'm 5'4 140 and train with animals...every once in awhile you will snatch someones back and get your RNC, or fight someone who is actually your size and dominate them, and that brief glimpse of glory keeps us going for the rest of the sessions getting owned.
Very good point is wanting to train....you first have to want to get better and also understanding the time and effort it takes to get better....when you study jiujitsu you dont win or lose...you teach or you learn....greatness takes time and effort
I had never heard of Caio Terra, so I did a bit of reading about him. I can't believe how many titles he's won, completely ridiculous for his age. When I do get back in BJJ (soon I hope) at a new gym - I'm going to follow your advice and focus on technique. Being beaten up does take getting used to though - I took it for a while as a white belt training with mostly blue and purple belts, but one day I got smashed so hard - I left the gym and could hardly walk. I think that's why I quit BJJ for a while. Much respect Caio, and best of luck bro.
"there's no strength that will stop you" it's true. And Caio Terra along with Rafa Mendes have the best technique out of anyone I've ever seen. Everything is so sharp with 0 fat in it.
I'm amazed truly on how such a young dude has so much wisdom. I'm fairly new to the lifestyle and I believe everything he is saying about technique over strength and speed. I just need to keep that on the forefront of my mind whenever I train because sometimes it gets passed me and I catch myself relying more on power over technique. Thank you for posting this video.
Thanks. I do train once a week! But online helps give me ideas and options for next week. Yeah, it's great having someone you can ask a question to that may not be covered in a video.
That's some good stuff. One of the best things I've heard from another wise individual was... "Sadly, wisdom doesn't come with Age contrary to popular belief, it only comes when you're ready to accept the truth. Most people grow old sound asleep letting their ego do the talking, so their words have no meaning"
I'm glad he said he went and did it on his own and studied from the internet because my blue belt friend called me a hipster for wanting to learn bjj online since I can't train all the time. It makes me feel good that world champions and everyone goes online, and not just hipsters or assholes that feel like bjj is only for them and no one else. Caio is cool.
Yeah totally! I learned the "calf crusher" from the internet. In fact I'd never even heard of it until I started looking up wrestling online and then saw "submission wrestling" stuff. I learned all kinds of stuff that is useful in Jujitsu that I'd never even heard of in my Jujitsu class because it's not technically "Jujitsu" stuff. Train hard, and stay healthy, man! =)
Damn... Wise words. Totally got smashed by a guy way stronger than me the other. I really needed to hear those golden first seconds. Got to drop the ego and just focus on the tech.
It's true that you can learn a LOT of things from online videos. Through online research, you can be exposed to new and different techniques from every corner of the earth, the internet is a great tool to learn! And BJJ is for EVERYONE! Although all of this is true, there is no substitue for a personal, face to face instruction. A physical person to practice with and stuff is very important. Please keep watching and learning all you can online! But make it a goal to eventually get into a class!

Yeees when you're small and you finally get on someone's back in the roll 😁😁😁
Yeah I’m. 5’4 150 n it’s frustrating but luckily I’m by far the quickest in my gym n it really helps my game
Im 46 and I can tell ya'll young folks this guy is a genius. Awesome clip, what a wise young man.

" teach you not just jujitsu but will help you with life." That's a great message
I already had an admiration for Caio, after seeing this it just gave me more respect for him and his thought process.
Parabéns, Caio.
É bom encontrar alguém tão novo no jiujitsu a pensar assim sobre a vida.
For a young man with a hard to understand accent, i hear what he is saying far more clearly than most people that speak

my only complaint is the music track is too loud..the bass line overwhelms him when he speaks...maybe it's just my audio output??
I really love these videos. I hope they keep getting pumped out for years to come!
Definitely one of my favorite BJJ fighters. He's a fun one to watch.
That's some good stuff.

Great advice from Caio, great background music too! Thanks for listing the artists.

Great video, Caio is my hero in BJJ!! Great person and competitor
Good video ,bjj for life keep it playful!
mix of black japanese is a ultimate weapon on bjj
I like Caio because he's not a roided out moron who combines cross fit and bjj. He's all about the art. The TRT BJJ thing is ridiculous.
awesome. I feel ya. Thanks
The guys a genius to teach himself techniques at home. Drilling, drilling, drilling..
Caio "Angry Bird" Terra
right on, thanks!
this guy is awesome
caio iz 2 me a really driven and positive individual. just my oppinon

In jujitsu I am a white belt and have 2 stripes and you have a black belt and a red stripe 😱😱
Good video; Art Suave style.
Who said this quote? I like it.
Hows the miyao vid coming along guys?
wonder what his thoughts on self defense are?
i know he started training because he was getting picked on when he was younger...
He has a good head on his shoulders.
his face like james rodriguez..
caio, you may be a gifted bjj fighter, but: you have no beard.
LOL
Hell yeah man
I have his DVD instructionals
CTBJJA!!
where is his gym located at?
Respect......
Hail King Caio!
san jose, Ca
" falling out" Caio is talking about his first Bjj coach. It had nothing to do with Cesar.
He tells true
so true!
Still a work in progress but check out ctbjja.com for more info on our Association!

"Caio Terra" deveria ser o nome do Neymar cai-cai
How do you train bjj alone?..
Virtually impossible
He doesn’t mean “by himself,” he means he had mats at home and people would come to train with him there.
Roosterweight: he's 59kgs.
So beautiful.
Looks kinda like Rebecca Black
Odeio os americanos por n porém legendas para nós brasileiros tbm visualizar o nosso próprio conteudo... Brazilian jiu-jitsu real martial arts OSS
Kind of reminds me of a seagull, anyone else?
Nope, just you.
Blow me he looks just like a seagull
nope.
Goddamnit I know he is descended from some type of bird,
Man maybe I'm fucking crazy but he for sure resembles a seagull. It isn't a bad thing, he's a sexy man, but a sexy seagull at that.
Dammmm! Prophet words! Jiu-Jitsu is a Message (From God)
Foda!
