Hey Maddie. Any day on the beach is a great day! Happy you stayed safe with that storm coming in. And my favourite today was great little broken whelk shell because of the colour and the architecture of it. Thank you for going out shelling for us too!
G'day Mary 👋🏻💖 Ain't that the truth! The bad weather is keeping me away from the beach right now; I feel like I'm missing out on a great day 🥲 Oh wow, I think you're the first one to mention that Spindle Whelk - even broken, I thought it was very interesting because it's my first time finding that one 😲 I find so few spindles; here architecture really is out of thr ordinary! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hey Maddie 🙌🏻 that storm did creep up on you , looks like a big one 😮. Finding that Bird Cardita with a mini Pheasant inside was a sweet surprise ❤ But yes that zebra volute looked pretty perfect to me 🪸🪸🐚🐚🐚
G'day Annie 👋🏻🏖️💖 It feels like every recent beach trip ends in a storm approaching 😂 but yesterday was a full 100mm of rainfall here at home 😲! As for the shells this time, it was certainly nice getting a Pheasant Shell surprise in the cardita 😂 but that Zebra Volute really should have been a favourite at the end; it's a really lovely little shell! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hi Maddie, enjoyed your video with my coffee, as usual I love the cowries. I also want to say that I really appreciate when you find a live shell you make sure that you let the air out before you let it go. Keep up the great work.
G'day Jeff 👋🏻☕❤️ Haha, I was drinking my own coffee while replying to you 😊 nothing fancy, just the organic base brand, but I like it! Anyhoo! Oh yes, I do let out those bubbles; I always cringe if I see someone put a crab back down with bubbles in its shell. When I've done hermit crab transfers, I've noticed that they will continuously spin the shell to make sure all air is released from the top most whorls of the shells 🐚🤔 and/or they won't transfer unless they're confident that the shell is empty of air. I know they can get air in the shells by being intertidal creatures, but no need to make things extra hard on them 🦀 Thank you for your kind words Jeff 🙏🏻 and thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Jane 👋🏻🏖️ Ahhh the grape cowrie wins today 🤩 it's a cute little one. Ahhh, it's been raining almost non-stop for four days 🥲 Maybe it will clear up tomorrow?? Thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Leslie 👋🏻🏖️ Oh wow, I think you're the first one to mention to limpet and the Violet Sea Snail 🐌 they were lovely shells as well (those the Zebra Volute looks like the crowd favourite this time 🦓❤️)! Thank you so much for watching 🥰 Shell on!
G'day Guadalupe 👋🏻💖 Hehe, actually, now that you mention it..?? I have been watching some of those hard candy creation videos 🍬 and the stripes on the Zebra Volute is reminiscent of them!! But what flavour would they be? Thank you so much for joining me on this adventure 🥰
High Maddie 👋 Beautiful adventure 😍 Yes, the Voluta zebra Is beautiful, as well the Phalium bandatum. You got very lovely cowries 😍 with the uncommon Bistolida stolida and an E. Caputserpentis gem. Nice keepers too, the Hydatina physis and Dicathais orbita. Interesting to see alive Monoplex parthenopeus . Nice find is Monoplex exaratus 😍and Peristernia ustulata 😍 this one's are my favourite thought with holes 😃thank you Maddie 😍 what a beautiful moments spent with you and such rich gifts from the great Queensland 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👋 i can't wait to see next adventure
G’day Francesco 👋🏻🐚 Phew, I’m glad that I got a few nice shells from this trip; it was looking like slim pickings for a while! I’m really happy with the Amoria zebra and the Caputseprentis’ though!! Hydatina physis is always a pleasure to see; actually, seeing the live Hydatina physis is a bigger pleasure… I might see one next time 😉! Oh wow, but the favourite is the Peristernia ustulata?? It’s my first time finding this shell 🐚 so it’s an extra special one, even with the hole 😅 Thank you for coming along on another Queensland shelling adventure 🥰
G'day Di 👋🏻🏖️💖 The Zebra Volute is a super nice one 😲 I should have given it the favourite spot...ahh, regrets 😂!! The Cowries and Bubble were lovely additions to the day ❤️ it was nice to find them before the storm arrived! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hey Maddie.....I do agree the Cowries you chose for your favorites were lovely. I really liked the White Rock Shell and that Operculum was near perfect. Special mention to the Brown Lined Paper Bubble.....as always a very fun adventure ! Hugs and cheers from Ontario, Canada......Wanda
G'day Wanda 👋🏻💖 Yesss Cowrie love for the win 🐚❤️ I must admit, I thought the White Rock Shell was especially nice with its spotting this time, and that Operculum was so nice too! Thanks for the special mention for the bubble shell...it's crazy to think that the shell can get worn down and mossy even when the little bubble is alive! It looks like a fresh shell otherwise. Aww thank you so much 💖 and thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Donna 👋🏻💖 The Snake-heads are lovely sometimes...very common, but finding nice ones like these? It just makes me happy 😁! I will admit, those limpet are very interesting (I shouldn't overlook them as much as I do) I think I need to collect and show more of them! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day from land-locked Austria! I think our tastes must be very similar; I had noted my favorites while watching, and they coincided very nicely with your honorable mentions and favorites. The organ pipe coral is beautiful. The first operculum you showed was very pristine, with a great swirl. The zebra volute was probably my favorite today. I also liked the white rock shell; I guess I'm very attracted to drupe shells. Of course, I would never turn down a cowrie, cone, or bonnet. I enjoyed that you realized when building your display how many nice finds you had. Keep those wonderful videos coming; thanks so much for filming!
G'day Jan!! I somehow didn't reply to this?? Let me try again ;D Hehe, I think that we both have good eyes for shells; some just have that special little attribute that makes them more interesting and noteworthy to us! That pristine Operculum really did stand out with that clean spiral!! Ohh and I'm glad you liked the Organ Pipe Coral too, it's a rare little thing, but its somehow been washing up a little more often lately?? Ahhh and the Zebra Volute comes out on top - it really was a nice one! As for the drupe shell; it really did have a good form and pattern on it; it was also eye-catching!! Hehehe yep, the display takes me by surprise every time, even the smaller ones like this. Once again, I am so sorry for the slow reply (slower than usual!) and thank you so much for watching!
I love the rock pools you are able to shell in-such a pretty overview of the rock beach too ❤️ Wow, I don’t think I have ever seen a hermit in a cone myself 🤔 Your “smaller” banded bonnet is like the max size of ours 🤣 LOVE the zebra volute 😍🐚 Great cowries as always ❤️ wow that live giant hairy!!!!!! 😍😍 Beautiful bubble-from what I read we can get the lined ones like that in Florida too-never even seen a piece though. Such a cute shell display!!
G'day Roxann 👋🏻🏖️ The rock pools are exciting; every day is like a scavenger hunt around the hidden nooks of the tide pool! Cone shells and crabs; I wonder if your Alphabet Cones will one day be occupied with crabs? I think it's not many crabs first choice of shell 🐚🦀 it's a bit of an odd shape for them. Ohh, and you liked the "small" bonnet as well 🤩 And the bubble shell, you can actually find them in Florida supposedly?? My goodness, I thought they were only an Indo-Pacific shell! Huh, I wonder if they prefer a certain environment?? I'm sure you'll find one someday if you keep looking long enough 😁 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Lisa 👋🏻🐚 Awww thank you so much ❤️ I'm glad you enjoyed the finds, there were certainly a few good ones this time! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Bonnie Julien 👋🏻🏖️ Aww thank you for joining me ❤️ any day at the beach is a great day, and it's my pleasure to be able to share the experience. Truly, thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hi Maddie Cowries were the number one for today but a nice Limpit and Nerite popped up at the last minute. As usual thanks for the shell collecting adventure.
G'day Aussie Dirt Digger 👋🏻🪙💖 I'm glad I was able to find a few nice shells 😲 I think the recent rain is sweeping a lot of them back into the ocean 🤔 or maybe I'm just imaging that 😂 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Danielle 👋🏻🏖️ Oh my gosh, they've been so bad!! Yesterday was a solid day or rain 🥲 I gotta say, I'm glad I'm not doing three videos a week this year...I wouldn't be able to do it with the wet weather now, and the wet weather at the start of the year! It's been a long time since we've had wet seasons like this ☺️ Thank you so much for watching 🥰
@@ShellingAdventures yeah it’s certainly started early this year. I am hoping that the rain holds off today so I can finally go to the beach this afternoon. I’ve been stormed out the last 2 weeks! I’m hoping to get to point Cartwright next weekend also!
G'day Suzanne 👋🏻🏖️ I'm glad you had fun on this one 🤩 it's been rough out there with all the bad weather, so I'm glad I got to share this trip 😁 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Susan 👋🏻🐚 Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I must admit, I was a lot less confident about this display than others in the past...I never know how they'll turn out until the end, though!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hello Maddie 🙂. I cannot chose a favourite between the snakehead cowrie with white spots, and the zebra volute. The special mention list would be long too, haha. Thanks for a lovely video.
G'day Oceanluvn Gal 👋🏻🌊💖 Hehe, then choose both as your favourite 😂 the Zebra Volute and the Snake-head Cowrie are both fantastic shells, and so different too! Thank you so, so much for watching 🥰
6:47 the broken pottery looks beautiful omg I always collect broken pottery. Sadly it isn't that common no more but it is fun to find them and add to collection though
G'day Ghost Links 👋🏻🐚 Ohh I'm glad I hung onto the pottery piece then; it's not something I see outside of the odd mudlarking video from the UK (not that I usually watch those videos, but I browsed them once upon a time). Hmmm, I wonder if it's not common because people are more considerate with their recycling or rubbish these days? Not sure, but I'm going to try to look at the positive side of things!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Loved seeing the live shells! ❤️ Beautiful operculum!!! My favorite today was the red coral. 🪸🪸🪸 Is there a way to string them onto a necklace? 📿 That storm looked very menacing. Be careful out there! Thanks for the adventure Maddie! 🥰🥰🥰
G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 It was nice to see so many live shells out and about at this time 😲 I'm going out shelling at night tonight, so maybe I will see even more than this??? Or maybe I'll fall over or decide that the shore is more interesting 😂 Ohhh the red organ pipe coral is really pretty!! I have maybe 2 or 3 small pieces now, and one of them looks perfect for a necklace. I think of I coated it in some kind of resin first, then it would durable enough to wear?? Never tried resin though. Ahh that storm actually turned into about a week of overcast and rainy days...I miss my beach days 🥲 but it's been nice to catch up on stuff at home. Hope you and the growing family are doing well over there 😊 and thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hello Maddie, look like the Bonnet are popping up more and more Btw my favorite shells were Juvenile Arabian Cowries, And all the Bird Carditas, Lastly The Bonnet🏝️🏖️🦪🐚🏖️🏝️
G’day Brian 👋🏻🏖️ The bonnets pop up more after rough weather, and we’ve had plenty of that here 😂! Oh wow, the favourites were the carditas, bonnet, and juvenile Arabian 😮 they’re really cool kinds of shells! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Reet 👋🏻💖 Ohh buttons from Operculums? Or did I read that wrong 😂 I've never made anything with the Operculums...I do wonder how to display they though; most of them go into a jar right now! I think bracelets or other jewellery would be pretty cool too. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Brenda 👋🏻❤️ Haha, I wish I could 😂 it's all about how much I find on the day...otherwise, you'll see a lot of broken shells and videos of me walking around 😅 but your words are sweet, I'm glad you enjoy the adventures so much that you want them to last longer. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G’day Algodoo 👋🏻🐚 Scorpion Conches are wonderful shells 🤩 I have some in my collection, but I don’t live in a place where I can find them. I think if I drive north for 10 hours, then I will find the beaches were they live 😮 maybe one day I will go there! Thanks for watching 🥰
G'day Freddie 👋🏻🐚 Haha, then I'd say that I find a lot of hungry cowries 😂😂😂 but the pebbles go in...where do they come out??? Hehe? Thank you so much for watching 🥰
G'day Algodoo 👋🏻🏖️ Ohh I'm not sure about the Mediterranean Carrier Shell, I'll have to look it up, but it's probably not present where I live in Australia 🌏🦘 but the Pallid Carrier Shell is a species that I can find 😲 though usually only small juveniles. I sometimes find Solar Carrier Shells, and one time; and Indian Carrier Shell!! Thanks for watching 🥰
