  • Welcome to our channel, where we uncover the fascinating world of tech! In this video, we're delving into a topic that might have slipped under your radar - the colors of mother! Have you ever wondered why some motherboards green, brown, blue, or even yellow? Stick around as we unveil the secrets behind motherboard colors and how they can influence performance and durability.
We kick things off by explaining the role the solder mask in determining the color of a motherboard. This protective layer not only gives the board its color but also shields the copper traces from damage. As we dive deeper, we explore why manufacturers opt for different colors, beyond just aesthetics. From cost-effectiveness to specific performance enhancements, each color has its own characteristics that can impact your PC build.
Join us as we dissect the significance of each color, from the ubiquitous green utilized in over 70% of motherboards worldwide to the rare and distinctive yellow found in high-end models. We also shed light on how colors like blue, commonly seen in gaming setups, offer benefits in heat dissipation and signal clarity.
But does the color of a motherboard directly affect its performance? We address this question by examining the quality of the solder mask and how it influences thermal management and electrical interference. Real-world examples from popular motherboard brands showcase how different colors are strategically employed to cater to diverse user needs and preferences.
As we wrap up, we invite you to share your motherboard's color and your thoughts on whether it makes a difference in your setup. Also the boards are made out of 3 different types of material. 2 different types of engineering processes to boot. The mask as you call it is antioxsiding coat is to pretect against cool air condensing on the boards resulting in corrosion. Colour has no baring on heat disapating only attracting heat.

Um, the color is just that, the color. The companies that make the soldermask can make their product just about any color. They may be different prices due to the demand, i.e. red soldermask is in less demand than green, so the red sells for more.

Black: Modern motherboard, does not indicate budget! Could be anything from a 2nd gen cpu to the latest of 15th gen
Yellow: Old and cheap budget even in its time, PGA generation and early lga755
Green: OEM motherboard like Dell, still used on the newest motherboards, easy to inspect for damage on traces
Blue: LGA755 Era color, most present on gigabyte likely from 2010s, blue is also very common on laptop
White, red or purple pcb color: Very rare, likely an engineering sample or something for prototyping or a custom motherboard

Good point ☝️, of course exist and other colors from the ones I mentioned in the video, like red, black, white and even purple motherboards which are extremely rare and often used in limited edition or special custom builds.
I really appreciate that you've shared with us 😉👍

Black masks are common in top-tier boards like the MSI MEG series. Black masks are favored for their sleek look and are believed to reduce glare and reflections, which can be helpful in high-performance setups.

What CPU do you use? i5 2400 or i7 3770k (Very common in lga1155 prebuilts), h61 only supports up to sandy bridge and ivy bridge, must be very old cpus

This is all false. Creator doesn't know anything about what actually decides a color. They didn't even name them all.
