    I personally know Mr. Ted, as I have always called him, for nearly 13 years now. He works as a highly credited and respected armed security gaurd at power plant I worked at. This man has more talents than throwing a basketball. He has an amazing memory. From the first time you meet him, he can remember your name. When I moved over to another power plant, I came back to the gate after over a year, and he still remembered my name. The nicest person you would ever know too.

    I have a lot of questions / red flags on this record. To shoot 7 hrs and 21 min without a bathroom break, water break, to do this record outside in Jacksonville FL, in the grass, no a regulation size court or lines, in the sun, weather elements and this isn't a young adult doing this, a 50-60 yr old man... and that goal he is using in his backyard is super forgiving and moves 4 inches every time the ball is made.... making/shooting Free throws is not about speed in shooting a shot, to make a shot every 4-5 seconds for that length of time I do not believe to be true, the human body doesn't have strength to do a repetitive motion that frequently and that often without error or breaks in between. I know because I have video footage of my self hitting 743 free throws in a row with no rebounder. I know how dehydrated I was during my 2 hrs and 12 min shooting free throws, how my arms, legs felt during my attempt and the 1-2 days after. Cramping in legs, forearms and arms. I can only speak on my experience, I was 32 when I hit 743 free throws in a row. I have been in contact with Guinness World Record, in 2023 you need physical evidence of records to show because people are dishonest. To actually have viable evidence and something people can say that is legit and followed rules etc To shoot an absurd amount of shots and the length/duration of time and other variables I mentioned above I do not believe this to be true. Check out my RUclips Channel for my records. Taylor Grayson 33, I have been using the NBA HomeCourt app for over 3 years. There is no photoshopping, editing, it uses the camera on your phone to track makes and misses. Viable Footage you can see my entire record of 743 Free Throws Made in a row!

      The record was done on a regulation court that Coors built for Mr. St Martin in his back yard. And it’s still there. Not the hoop you see in the video. Mr. St Martin would hit 1,000 in a row during half time show’s traveling the country representing Coors Lite who sponsored him. He will be the first to tell you his shot isn’t pretty……

    • @TaylorGrayson33
      @TaylorGrayson33 Год назад

      @@miguelamadeo1582 it’s not about having a pretty shot or not. But doing a physical act or motion for that amount of times and that quickly. The body, muscles, stamina, fatigue etc doesn’t add up. Even if it was on a regulation court in his backyard, shooting outside is way tougher than inside so that adds to the questioning of this 5,221.

      @@TaylorGrayson33 in the video Mr. St Martin tells you all his personal records he broke and where they were done in front of live audiences! His friend Bob Fisher has shoot close to 3,000 in a row. Mr. St Martin is 87 years old now and retired when he was 67…… his life was working out and traveling the country living up to his reputation. He told me once In Louisiana he missed 3 out of his first 5 during a half time show and the fans booed him! Then he hit 500+ and they gave him a standing ovation. He told me that he worked out to make sure he would never miss that first shot again. He was even hired by the Atlanta Hawks to coach the team but he turned it down. When he shot the 5,221, he did it during one of his many clinics….. there was over 15 people present. I worked with him when he was over 70 years old was still doing daily pushups even though he had retired….. Blessings, keep shooting and to be successful requires dedication! Keep Shooting! 👍🏼

    • @TaylorGrayson33
      @TaylorGrayson33 Год назад

      @@王勇-j9vstill doesn’t make sense. Doing a repetitive physical motion at 60 years old, in the sun, doesn’t matter how much you drink. You do the math 5,221 divided by the 7 hrs and 20 min. He didn’t have much time to rest or drink bc that means he averaged 12 makes a minute. That is very fast, again. Shooting free throws isn’t about speed, it’s about concentration, focus and rhythm. By the way adding a camera and recording any record adds pressure to any record and has validity. Video footage is KING in 2023, I have my video of 2 hrs and 12 min of my 743 record. I doubt this 5,221 is actually legit. I can only be persuaded by actually seeing video proof. For an insane amount of makes, attempts etc to not have to be recorded is absurd and ridiculous.

    I haven't comment for a while. I've read all the post.... For the negative comments, yes Ted will be the first to tell you his form is not pretty! To the guy that said they can break the record on the rim shown in the video (Do it, you probably can't hit more the 25 in a row, my best is 163). Ted set the record on a regulation 10 foot rim court in his backyard that was donated for him by Coors to practice (he has a cement half court). I've shoot there with my kids. Ted doesn't shoot any more (Father time is catching up to him, he's 83 now) but he still give pointers. No he doesn't teach you to shoot like him. I played Pro Ball over seas and one pointer I took from him that I wish I knew when I was playing was not to bend my knees when shooting my Free Throws. He told me that if your tired in a game from all that running why bend down to shoot when all you need is a flick of the wrist and a straight follow through. I'm 55 now and using Ted's tip I can still hit over 50 on a good day. One more note if you didn't realize it on the this video. Ted told me that once he was invited to a shoot at half time during the Final Four (don't remember the year) and he missed 2 out of his first 4 and the crowd began to boo him. Then he hit over 700 in a row before half time was over. This put pressure on him to practice, practice, practice and make sure that first shoot always went in. Ted use to shoot during half time at NBA and College games representing Coors. He would drive all over the country in his personal van with the "The Coors Silver Bullet" Logo on it. I am so proud to know Ted St. Martin. He is proud humble family man (standing 5 ft 6 in tall), still working (Monday - Friday) and never misses a Sunday at Church. Love you Ted.....
    Just a Friend ...... in my Roy Acuff voice (Ted's favorite Country Singer)

      What’s odd is, Tom Amberry, who made 2750 in a row before being asked to leave the gym, said to bend your knees. He also had an unorthodox shot, holding it low and out, in front of his chin, though he shot with one hand. Maybe technique doesn’t matter as much as being able to repeat whatever technique you have. And maybe being able to repeat it has to do with focus.
      Also, Mo Norman comes to mind. Hi he ‘greatest ball striker’ in history, supposedly. He had an uncommon swing. But one he could repeat.

    Just FYI: Mathematically speaking and logistically speaking. If someone shot 7 hrs and 20 minutes that is 440 minutes. To make 5,221 in that time frame is 11.9 makes a minute. That is a free throw make every 5.5 seconds. Not factoring in the misses/attempts he had. Then he claims to have taken breaks, well how many breaks and the length of breaks? So that means he had to avg 15-20 makes a minute, meaning a make every 3-4 seconds. Not factoring in the missies or attempts! There is no way for a human to put up a shot every 1-2 second for 7 hrs and 20 min straight. I think GWR has been fooled and the world tricked on the accusation of this number. The math does not add up, the outside factor in Jacksonville FL in the sun, wind, in his backyard, age and other elements. Exhaustion, dehydration, fatigue and muscle cramps spasm are a no brainer. There is too many variables that make this claim undoable.

      7 years later, your getting a response, no, the best free throw shooter ever in the nba is Steph Curry, who shoots just over 90% on his career. This guy is certainly well over 90%.

    How come when he shoots, they don't show the basket?
    I'd like to see proof that he made over 5,000 in-a-row in 1996. Is it on the internet?

    • @aChristian4RonPaul
      @aChristian4RonPaul 4 года назад

      Because it's an interview for entertainment value, not the actual record attempt.
      The record took over 7 hours and since it was back in 1996, I doubt there's an online video of it. I couldn't find one anyway.

    • @philosophiabme

      Amie Riddles Yeah, pretty much. Sure, his arms may be tired, and it might be a little cardio. But that's nothing compared to the constant physical exertion of competing in a live basketball game.

    That was legit. Period. Nothing else about it but, I still don't get how taller players are worse at shooting, shouldn't it be the opposite? I mean if you can do a "j" and be parallel to the rim shouldn't it be easy to make it? No logic, no explanation lol... 8th wonder of the world? Shaq's free throw percentage lol... 9th this guys.

    • @aChristian4RonPaul
      @aChristian4RonPaul 4 года назад

      They are primarily worse because of lack of practice and poor form. But, at a certain point height does affect form, since the angle of the shot changes.

    Didn't realize we were allowed to use rims with give. I will break this record one Sunday on the rim at the house next door to my parents. Like the hoop used in this video it basically catches the ball. Also do we know how much PSI was in the ball used for the record? With a low pressure ball and a forgiving rim someone might shoot 10,000 in a row.

      That wasn't the hoop or even court that he set the record on. There's a video titled “A Piece of the Game” on Vimeo where it shows the court that he set the record on.

    He shoots very ugly, if he was actually trying to shoot a basketball on a defender he would get rejected so bad the defender wouldn't need to jump

    • @snoopyshultz
      @snoopyshultz 8 лет назад +9

      +Cooper Morris it's a 2 handed set shot it works in games, it just isnt used anymore like the skyhook. larry bird could shoot with both hands consistently. the iceman used english on the glass thats unheard of now. rick barry shot 89% underhanded free throws. just because people dont do it any more doesnt mean it doesnt work. if you seriously think someone couldnt come off a screen and sink one flat footed from 30ft away with a quick release you need to go back and watch more basketball
