Omigosh that “disturbing” book sounds awful. I would be thinking of those girls for months. I’m glad you enjoyed Darling Girls. Honestly I’ve been putting it off like you put off a special dessert! You mentioned a couple that sound good. Enjoy the summer!!
I also read Night Watching. I thought it was very good!
Read the Girl next door…..was definitely tough to get through at times….a book that you want to read but don’t at the same time…finding out it was a true story ,hard to believe that this could actually take place! Stuck with me a veryyy long time

The most disturbing I’ve read is Such Small Hands. I didn’t know how to rate it either! I’ve wanted to read Glass Castle for so long. I need to get to that one soon.
I liked Nightwatching but there were some time jumps that confused me. I will say that the last third of this book was so compelling. I have the The things we leave unfinished is on my list to read. I was hoping you would think it was fantastic. Sounds like you read some great books in June. BTW, I think 8 books in a month is fantastic. Some weeks I read multiple books and others I’m lucky to get through one!
Matthew Kelly books are all good
I had a similar reaction to Fourteen Days. I did finally dnf at 33%, because all characters sounded the same despite there being 30+ authors involved.

I read Darling Girls this month. I have The Girl Nextstore on my shelf. I also listened to One of Our Own when it first came out. I read the Glass Castle years ago. I loved it.

I read the Darling Girls so in June; I gave it 3 stars. I have The Berry Pickers on my Libby TBR. I can't believe it took you so long to read The Glass Castle. I red it last year for book club and thought i was late to reading it.
I feel like I was the last one to read it.
Jeannette is from my home town. There is also a movie and she has other books
One of our own sounds really interesting. I haven't read anything by Lucinda Berry.
