As you used to say... "it's a slippery slope," and truly social media is that. Those 'Shorts' are probably the worst for me, I can lose hours in them. Granted at 73 years of age my day is quite different from a busy younger woman's day, but I still could be in the Word more... that's my desire.❤
I've been there too! I learned to be kind to myself and not heap more shame on me because of the number...but just to see it as now I am aware and now I will choose to make healthier choices for myself. It's almost like another form of self care. I bless you on your journey towards reaching your dreams. xoxo
Absolutely true !!! I to just a few days ago started to purge and sell a few things donate some things and declutter my home … if feels good to try and let go of things I’m about to be on a no spend journey even if it’s one month at a time…. I also decided to get back to Bible reading where I have not for a few years , and I know it’s well needed !!!! Thanks so much I listened to this on my way home from work ❤
Thank you so much for sharing! It's getting easier and easier for me to declutter my home! And I promise you will not regret reading the Bible. It offers so much sustenance for life. I LOVE my time in the word every day! 🥰
Excellent point!! I am so guilty of collecting information and doing nothing with it and even forgetting I ever collected it, and then stumbling across the same information again, as if it were new!!!! 👀. Thank you for this!!!!💛💛
So true. Thank you for the reminder. Also, it’s so easy for me to look something up or watch a video telling myself that I’m trying to get ideas. The problem is that I tend not to act on what I’ve learned. Just watch more videos. ❤
Yes, Ali! I’m right there with you asking “is this time on my phone serving my higher self?” It makes my heart ache when I realize all the time I’ve already wasted. In the last few years I’ve been more intentional about tech time(social media included) and spend more time “disconnecting” from technology.
Im here from watching your husband´s LSB Bible review and then saw one with your PSQ. Now I’m here! I’m so happy that you’re also a planee (planner community) like me. I love you and your husbands humor and love. I just watched his video on health and stuff. My husband and I are newly invigorated to get back to our healthier selves. Thank you guys! We love you both!
I have been on too much. Part I’ve started is a Bible study. So I’m promising myself more time in my studies than other stuff. Let me see if I can. Retirement will help with that. I’d rather go to library and study and make it happen. Fingers crossed.
Oh girl, you are SO not alone! Great video and thoughts. I appreciate you sharing this. I have set time limits on particular apps before and that will help me not spend so much time on them - sometimes. Even having a wallpaper that asks your question so that when you turn your screen on, you're challenged with your question can be helpful.
Yes... I often break up tasks that need doing into chunks that "earn" me time online or at my art table. I find I am much more willing to start the next task this way.
I watch TV while playing dumb games on my phone 😮💨 I do enjoy listening to books or podcasts while cleaning/knitting. No social media. Paper lists. :) I, too, research things to death! I try to do so with the computer where I’m much more mindful of spending time there for some reason. The phone is just too convenient. Toying with the idea of dumb phone… but I enjoy that built in Apple camera.
So timely. My phone usage went way up this last week and I am having to set boundaries around my phone. I love the you version app, but let me 900+ day streak die because if I touch my phone in the morning, I lose at least 2 hours clearing all the notifications and checking email and work email and that’s not how I want my mornings. I now do my studies with a physical Bible so God is first and not my phone. Love this idea of living water…is what I’m taking in making me stagnant or is it allowing me to flourish and breathe life to what is around me?
This is so true. We end up spending so much time on mobile. Most of my apps are on mute because the notifications are such a distraction and irritation. Thanks for this video. In an earlier video, you mentioned that you're kind of an introvert, into worship and ministry but still plan your no-people days... Can you make a video on that? I am an introvert/ambivert (LOL) and it is just difficult to have boundaries in the house as I live in a joint family and also work from home. I moved to a totally different city after marriage 3 years ago and solitude (physically and mentally) has been difficult to achieve.
Great topic! Thank you for sharing. I am quite guilty of gathering intel or ideas, but rarely putting them into action or sharing ideas myself. Analysis paralysis with planning/journaling. Sometimes, too, unaware of my spiritual gifts.
We all have been there. We are all on this journey. May we ALL become more aware and give ourselves permission to dream BIG and put our hands to those dreams. Much love! xoxo

@@AliBrownie Amen!❤️
You are not alone! I spend 8 hours a day on my phone! I’m wasting my life away! Thank you for this video! I’m going to ask myself the question!

No, you are not alone. I have collected data for years, but this year I’m making the changes so I use what I collect. Thanks for affirming my journey.

Youre definitely Not Alone! Thx for sharing your heart on this and challenging us to make Changes that will be beneficial to our lives!! 😊❤️🤗

You are speaking to my heart an soul, as always Ali. Thank you!

Such an important topic, thank you for sharing ☺☺☺
Of course! It's my joy to share! xoxo
My problem is too much tv. I am old, retired and bored. I have plenty to do but instead I sit and watch tv or you tube.
John 7:38. One of my favorite verses. This was excellent i don't know how to find the time spent on screens. I will look it up. Thanks
