This is exactly how I remember my childhood days (nights). I used to sleep with this beautiful and comforting sound. It gave me a safety feeling of being inside my family’s home, with my parents and siblings, while I fell asleep with the sound of a torrential rain falling on the zinc roof. I love rain and thunder. 💖💖

I grew up in Hong Kong and this reminds my childhood under Mom and Dad’s protection. Also, this is nothing new. We walked home in this kind of rain from school, often time rain water at street corners got high to our angle. shoes and socks completely wet!
They say the sound of rain is comforting to people because it reminds them of the static sounds they heared in the womb when they were a baby

I saw a video a while back about japanese people preferring clear umbrellas to see the rain drops to enjoy the rain . I didnt expect to see so much . What also impresses me is how flat the roads and pavement are and no building up of puddles

My guess is that their motivation is more of a practical nature. With rain that heavy you need to hold that umbrella as low as possible, and even then you want one that isn't too flat. Having a clear umbrella means you can still see where you walk when being ducked under it.

Today it was drizzling outside where I’m at, nothing heavy and nothing too crazy which is sad. Everything rain absolutely fascinates me, the sound it makes, the visuals and scenery of rain, the slightly dark and grey atmosphere, seeing people rush to where they want to go so they don’t get soaking wet.
Rain is just so calming and surreal. I wish I was there with you. It seems to rain a lot in Japan, where I’m at it barely rains and when it does I’m either asleep and it goes by quickly and all is see is the aftermath which is wet roads when I wake up or the rain is weak with some drizzles. Overall it’s been a while since it poured down hard. Hope fellow rain enthusiasts aka Pluviophiles are doing well 🌧☔️

We live on the top floor, here in New Orleans in a very old landmark building (1856)..So when it rains heavily, as it often does in this part of the country, we can fall asleep at night with that same patter-patter on the roof. I love it, and always feel very comfy, snuggled in as I listen to the downpour sounds....

My parents visited me last month and I remember I was on my way to meet them in Tateishi at their Airbnb after my work on the day of the downpour... Train was delayed and arrived late but we found a local yakiniku store that was open... What a lovely memory that became...

I like heavy rain cuz everything looks better in strong - very Heavy rain, also: look! Water! Just hold a pot out and you can have fresh sky water! (And i like rain, the look of rain hitting glass, the sound, all very wonderful. If we could modulate weather ... i'd live in a place where its always raining.)

I have had issues falling asleep. I went out twice with this video. It just soothes and calms the soul. I might even one day watch the whole thing thru one day. Never made it so far but that's a good thing.

I wonder when google or RUclips is going to push the FULL UHD TV 8k format? To watch this in its full uncompressed glory would be amazing! You would need to have gigabit Fiber for doing so, (4k UHD Blueray Bit-rate at least 128Mbit) ( but the test and sample files already sent out as MKV files for a 3 min clip are already over 5 GB that they showcase in stores)
I'm still surprised that there is not a massive push for Fiber to every home by the Media industry.
