Hey guys idk if you know this but Astrosmash is available for PS5 in the digital store. I had to double check to make sure it was the same game, and there’s a blurb about Tommy doing the music in the description (and it’s as bad as you can imagine)
We have already entered the long period but very low-activity Dark Era of the Amico, before its inevitable heat death. The fun crazy times of the Tommy Tallarico Era, which was bustling with energy and movement, are long gone.
This is such a head scratching comment. Any platform is _"family friendly"_ so long as you are an adult and responsible with it. There is SO MUCH family friendly software (especially on PC and switch), and a wide world of devices to play them on. And almost all of them have age restriction features. And beyond that, you CHOOSE what games are in your home, and what your kids have access too. It's also up to you as the adult limit the time your kids have with it. And most platforms can be played without internet access. And when it comes to software, there is still tons of party titles and local multiplayer titles. And even online titles can be family friendly when you play on the same network. Nintendo alone has a bunch of games like this (like Mario Party, Mario Kart, etc). And it's not like those old consoles were exactly "family friendly" either. They were not selling intellivision and Ataris to kids back in the 70s... those were very expensive devices, targeted at first primarily at adults with disposable income. As a result even the Atari 2600 has Kustards Last Stand and Animal House (even the NES had its fair share of adult games too). Buy a Leap Frog device if that's too much work - they are still around, have wonderful software and certainly game consoles. Or you could setup your own Retropi 4 build (literally make your own dream family console) or a buy android box that you can gatekeep ever aspect of. Again: this comment, when people make it, is so misguided. I feel like it's made but a bunch of jaded 50+ year olds who don't actually understand technology unless its something they grew up with (and even then... there were plenty of adult software) and want to complain about a problem that doesn't actually exist. 🤷♂️
@@FreddyKruegerRealEstate I'm pretty sure it was sarcasm. Tommy would often deride the other consoles (Switch in particular) as being filled with sex and violence while touting how family friendly Amico is.

Good evening. It is December 14 in the year 3,752. Mankind has transcended physical being, becoming entities of pure light capable of visiting any point in time and space through a vast network of interconnected parallel and perpendicular cosmic realities. Also, the Amico controller should be out by August.
I feel like the true "time of death" for the Amico, as a concept, was when Atari bought the Intellivision IP from the company now known as Amico Holdings LLC. Even DJC Game Studios, who made the Amico his entire personal brand, abandoned it after that happened.
This could have been a Steam game collection all the years they brought up this concept. You'll find your audience, if they want this. An Asus ROG Ally or a Steam Deck motion controls could have done everything Amico promised to do.
You guys are being too tough on Amico. Everyone knows that the roadmap for the year was a typo… it’s not 2024, it’s supposed to be 3024. It’s still coming! 🕹️
It's not crazy. These are Intellivision/Atari hardcores. They will gladly pay $15 for "Intellivision/Atari" games. Balatro is another market. Different market, different interests, different budgets, different mindsets, my friend.
😂😂😂😂@@PuzZLeR_00 Not crazy? Have you seen the download sales for it on steam and Google Play store? 😂 Almost non existent. Once again your predictions fail with actual evidence. But please tell us that there's thousands of downloads on Android and steam or even HUNDREDS. You keep posting in every single RUclips or Reddit page that there's a market to it and gamers are buying it when the data tells otherwise.... What's the down loads for the games on steam and Google Play? Under 50... Under 100 downloads? Such a success.... But alas.... Revenues and profits don't mean nothing 😂😂
I gotta say im impressed at the gumption to just keep going. Tbh in the beginning i expected amico to actually release before the atari box did since "intellivision" was showing games while atari was spinning out on the vcs development. Years later the vcs is still available. Has its fan base, still gets games, and it works. Picked a cyber monday deal on one. Its not bad for what i paid as a little alt device, as its capable beyond its ecosystem (not a lot but it is) wouldnt have paid retail for it over but for 80? Fun oddity.
The PlayDate fills that Niche that the Amico tried to fill. I don't know why they didn't just pull an Atari, sell some shirts, merchandise, Intellivision 1 and 2 Mini's a modern Intellivision themed PC, with a custom themed version of Linux. Released some Intellivision HD collections. Amico was never going to take off.
Maybe any remaining money is finally being used to build that rocket ship and Amico will be here any day now. Look out PlayStation/Xbox/Nintendo the future will arrive within *checks estimation* 400 years! Good luck to all the AI/human hybrids wanting to have family fun first!
I can't believe there are still people hanging on to it. There is absolutely nothing at this point. There wasn't much before, but now that some things are tangibly out, it's absolutely nothing. There is no possible argument in favor of it whatsoever

Keeping the controllers was a good way to buy more time and keep kicking the can down the road. More time to look for investors/buyers, or just a miracle...any miracle, and just keep their heads above water for another day/week/month.
I would be shocked if whatever deal they signed did not continue to allow them to use the television name in conjunction with Amico. Already knowing that this was just going to choke and die a terrible death didn't probably care
everything about this remains insane. the 15 dollar price tag for these substandard mobile games, the two required devices, it's crazy. to quote "Mr. Eff," what a wonderful scam the Amico was
It's so stupid to need two mobiles devices to play one 40+ year old game. If I wanted to play Astrosmash that badly I could just get a cheap Android handheld for less than the cost of buying two of these games at $15 a pop and not need a second device to play them.
They went on about how dumb it was to put the physical controller on the roadmap, but the dumbest thing about sticking to that unconventional design it now misses the point without Intellivision's branding. That controller was designed to be Intellivision-esque from the start and they're still hanging onto that for some odd reason.
@MrMegaManFan Obviously, by your namesake, you are not an Intellivision fan. You are not its market to understand why these folk will indeed happily pay $15.

Tommy really should have said "No, it's not for me; I'm not a businessman. Look for someone else with experience if you want a CEO." instead of fumbling the console.
