Wow this San Bernardino yard is huge, just like the trains which runs through there. I guess the CP locomotive on the last train was a surprise for you. I love the midtrain helper there. Very good video again, it's good to see you still have footage from your California vacation.
MBMARS I wanted to watch one more video before some shut eye. I enjoyed watching the train with six engines heading up the steep grade nice shot. Thanks for this video super job
I was wondering MBMARS where was the train headed with the six engines that went up the grade I passenger train was heading to downtown Los Angeles. Thanks again for this video
Ah summer days. Cloudless skies and warm sunshine. What were the two unusual loco,s, obviously being transferred, behind the main power in the beginning of the video? Goes without saying great video.Mick🇬🇧
But don't forget that California has to pay for dry weather like this: Wildfires like the huge ones right now are always a great threat. The "unusual" locos are gensets. For fuel saving purposes (and reducing emissions), these engine have several small diesel engines in them and only as many as needed to do work are actually used. They were considered good options as yard switchers, but it doesn't look like the concept was particularly successful.
Thanks for the info hence the three exhausts. I do appreciate what you say about the price paid for hot dry weather. It’s just looking out of the window seeing day after day of wet miserable weather, a bit of sunshine seems a good option . Guess it’s another case of the other mans grass is always greener. Keep safe. Mick🇬🇧
Haha, I fully understand it, but looking out of the window and never seeing a cloud in several weeks can also make one wonder what's wrong with the weather. A healthy mix would be the optimum, of course.
Excellent footage mbmars01! The SBD sub for the most part doesn't disappoint with traffic! I am wondering if security tried to kick ya guys off the station? Happened to me and my friend in the past!
Thank you! Ah okay, no I wasn't harassed by anyone. I was expecting to be ID checked, but nothing happened. They let me alone there for the two hours I spent.
I don't normally count cars, so I don't actually know. The westbound BNSF grain trains on the Southern Transcon with 9 engines and some intermodals with more than 12k feet length are certainly among the longest, and so is certainly also the empty coal hopper train I recently saw here on CSX with 220 cars. In the past, when CSX Q616 and Q676 still ran through here, they also had easily 170-200 cars. Thanks, good you like the video.
No, surprisingly there were no issues during the entire trip at all. Not a single incident. I didn't really figure it out, because I was more interested in the freight trains, but I think I stood on the Amtrak platform? I have forgotten the details, but there was no barrier or anything to prevent me from getting on that platform. I also guess, I'm not the first railfan to watch trains there. They might simply be used to it.
I did! In the "Specials and Railfanning Expeditions" section on my channel main page, there's a link to the "Third Expedition to the Deep South" playlist from earlier this year. It contains a lot of KCS stuff from along the KCS/NS Speedway.
Oh my goodness, you're right... Thanks! I corrected all occurrences in the thumbnail, title, and description (unfortunately, I can't do it in the video anymore).
Oh, San Bernardino! Reminds me of 2015 terror attack by Pakistani jihadi couple Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik. Not connected to railfanning but who can forget it?

Yes, the CP came a little bit unexpected that far south, but it was good to see some other color. Thanks! There will be one more video from this trip.

Yea, it was spectacular to watch this climb. Great you enjoyed the video.
Terrific catches/races/power/meets! Cool bluebonnet!
Great, thanks!
Great show.
Good you enjoyed it!
Excellent video. I'm glad you have more video from your trip.
Thanks. Yes, there will be one more video from this trip. I'm amazed how much material I brought back from it...
Nice video , good cinematic shot .
Cool, thanks. Great you like it!
Great Shots buddy, and the Quality is just right for the perfect Railfanning.
Great you like it!

There are yards in the area between San Bernardino and L.A. downtown. I'd think the train was headed to one of them. You're welcome!
Excellent stuff as always !!!! Thanks !!!!
Nice, thank you!
Another great production!
Cool, many thanks! The video really has its special moments I have to say :)
Took quite a few Kaiser Haulers over that flyover. Both eastbound and westbound.
Lol
I am watching your freight train railfanning and I like it from Daniel BNSF
Very cool, thanks!
這美好的天氣 穩定的畫面 強大的列車陣容 太棒了!……🤗🤗🤗
Thanks to the Google translator I could translate your post :) Thanks so much! Good you liked the video!
Socal has so much in railroading every where
Well, yes and no. A lot of action happens mostly on a few main arteries, but there are also large areas without rails.

Great video sir!! Cool shots sir and catches!! Keep up the great work sir!! Does csx use double dpus on trains down there in Georgia sir?
Thank you. Maybe, they do on some trains. I don't recall I have seen one with two DPUs, though.
The BNSF coal trains from/to Plant Scherer in Juliette, GA have typically a 2+2 configuration and run on NS.
Nice video sir!! Cool shots and catches sir!! Keep up the great work sir!! How many trains did u see while being in San Bernardino sir?
Hi, thanks. I stayed only for the ones in the video. I think there are seven trains in it, without the yard jobs.
Pretty good
Thanks!
Sweet video!! Cool shots sir!! Keep up the great work sir!! Is this your fist time visiting San Bernadino for train sir?
Thank you. Yes, it was my first visit there.
Cool video
Thanks!
Awesome!
Thank you!
What is the longest train you ever filmed? Another grait and awesome video.
I don't normally count cars, so I don't actually know. I live near the San Bernardino train station
Cool.
Wow 🔥👍
San Bernardino is a cool spot to watch trains.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Good you like it :)
mbmars01 Very much!
So close, almost 9777, but it's 9776.
Lol
You did well on your short trip, have any problems with security since your standing on the platform without a Metrolink ticket?
No, surprisingly there were no issues during the entire trip at all. Not a single incident. I didn't really figure it out, because I was more interested in the freight trains, but I think I stood on the Amtrak platform? Cool footage! What is the percentage of the grade? I'm sure the camera makes it look steeper than it really is.
Thanks! Well, I don't know what the grade is, but even with the naked eye it looked impressive.
Pattentown road dance
Can you do a KCS Railfanning?
I did! In the "Specials and Railfanning Expeditions" section on my channel main page, there's a link to the "Third Expedition to the Deep South" playlist from earlier this year. It contains a lot of KCS stuff from along the KCS/NS Speedway.
Nice video, but the correct spelling is San Bernardino. (R missing)
Oh my goodness, you're right... Thanks! I corrected all occurrences in the thumbnail, title, and description (unfortunately, I can't do it in the video anymore).
Those 3GS locos are such mechanical failures. All gensets are. So glad most of them have been removed from service
It's an interesting idea, but if they don't work as desired, it doesn't make sense.
Oh, San Bernardino! Reminds me of 2015 terror attack by Pakistani jihadi couple Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik. Not connected to railfanning but who can forget it?
Awesome!
