APA brought so much stability to TL when they kept throwing games. Now if summit can just learn to not give free kills so often TL might be able to be a solid team

Summit still is such a liability for his teams. This game sums up the player perfectly:
- Amazing, dominant laning. (Doesn't really show in the KDA, but he was basically laning 1v2 and still winning, making his team basically play 4v3 in mid / bot. The 3K gold lead was largely thanks to Summit indirectly creating space for Pyosik.)
- 60-IQ, bronze V throws in mid / late-game.
Look at 29:30. The correct move was to kite back and buy time; Summit hard-engaged a 3v4 instead.(And died, obviously.) That one suicide started the whole chain of events that gave Golden Guardians a 5K+ Baron powerplay. One suicide completely undoes 20+ minutes of solid laning.
Now, if you look at this one game in isolation, you might say "yeah, he made a mistake, but he has huge potential. Look at that laning; he'll be an S-tier toplaner if he cleans up his game and remains consistent throughout the mid / late-game".
But the thing is, we've been saying that for years! Five years ago in LCK, at Sandbox, it was exactly the same story: dominant laning; random suicides to throw the game at 30+ minutes. He hasn't improved one bit in five years. (Although Team Liquid still managed to win in this case, thanks to a miracle in their last-chance teamfight.)
What a waste of talent, really. But I'd rather have an untalented, but consistent player, whom you can just put on Ornn duty and trust to play a solid, consistent game. Reliability is much more valuable than talent.

TLDR
Unfortunately LCS is just a retirement home for has-been LCK stars with name recognition. With the low amounts of native talent capable of competing internationally, NA is doomed to die off, see TSM leaving. APA is one of the few exceptions.
@@FATnocturnalKID11summit dominated lane but throws by suicide and in this game particularly he gave up an easy death which led to GG getting to pick off the rest of his team, resulting in GG getting Baron. Despite his talent, he hasn't improved. See also: Sandbox in the LCK.
GG seemed like the better team they just refused to win. Kept inting at the worst times
