Very sad, but if we continue as usual then in 15 or 20 year from now no patient will have any treatment...
First, the extreme heat will cause global food chain collapse...
after, with domino effect, will be global commercial collapse...
after, people in panic, will cause a huge Global Economic Collapse...
So, the only sure is will not die from the extreme heat, but we will die from hunger... or fighting each other for a slice of bread...
And if you don't believe me and you think that is not possible, then listen the scientists studying Global Systems. They give more than 90% probability in that scenario... so, is almost sure... little bit more or little bit less...
And I will remind you, as Chris said in the video, "a tiny IT blip cased a Worldwide shutdown of computers, inconvenienced people far more that this..."
So, imagine how fragile is our world, how depended some worldwide systems are, and in how many systems, their good functioning, depends on a thread of wool!

The Nacelle (rectangular gearbox on top of the tower) contains 1,400 litres of oil to lubricate the gears and keep the turbine operational. There are 11,500 wind turbines operating in the UK at the moment which means that 16,100,000 litres of oil is needed to keep the turbines operating (the oil also needs to be changed ever year approximately). To protest is a right of passage in order for the public to support and demonstrate their beliefs. However, the style of protest is at the core of whether you get the majority behind you. The Just Stop Oil activists definitely went about things in the most antagonistic and dangerous way which created the wrong message despite many saying this is the main object of a protest - to get noticed and hit the headlines. When you endanger innocent lives, ruin heritage sites or disrespect your fellow human beings, then you have to accept the consequences of those actions. Chris Packham does a great deal towards improving animal welfare and sticks his neck out for what he believes in which deserves some admiration but I think he was off point regarding the M25 and jail sentences .

The only question is whether you think that sending those that disrupt traffic is worthy of a draconian 5 year sentence or not.
We can agree or disagree about that tactics, but that's by the by. The main point is completely disproportionate, punitive sentencing in a time of a huge overcrowding crisis in our prisons. They are releasing violent offenders early and in their place protestors.... What are our priorities?

@bganonimouse2754 it's worth a life sentence... People died... They are part of a literal gang who caused deaths... the law is clear about that.

    No meat eating.
    No hunting.
    No fishing.
    No animal testing.
    No angling.
    No 'exotic pets'
    No captive birds.
    No dogs and cats.
The RSPCA and lunatics like PETA have been doing this for many years and should be proscribed organisations.

As a friend of Gaie Delap who is 77, all I can say is what an excessive sentence. I don't think her actions were justified but the length of sentence is insane given that prisons are full. She is one of the kindest people you could meet who got swept up in protests.

If the illegal protesting behaviors escalate the arrests & lengthy sentences should escalate as well. Eventually they'll run out of people willing to risk their freedom. They should also get fined heavily, a few thousand pounds for the first offense, then increase by a thousand pounds for each subsequent offense for the organizers. He complains that their message isn't covered enough in the media. The media puts out what sells, if your issue doesn't garner enough public interest that isn't the media's fault.

Freedom of speech includes other people's right not to listen to you.
There are over 5 billion people in the world. Just think if you had to listen to every one of their views every day. I can't be done, so individual people can decide what they want to listen to. These protester's believe they have the right to force people to listen to their views. They don't, and should be imprisoned if they insist on doing so.
