    Nice video.
Some places that are not "standard destinations" in Germany.
But it was filmed a bit earliers, as the trees are very green.

I'm german-russian and I live 10 km(6 miles) from Bamberg away. I totally love the city and Nuremberg is also a very beautiful city, if you go there to the right places and not the dirty areas. 😊

Kassel was the home of the Henschel-Factories that produced the Tiger-Tank during WW2, so Kassel became a primary target for allied air raids.

And today the former Henschel-works ( Thyssen-Henschel after WWII ) are still manufacturing tanks, as part of the Rheinmetall-Group. So wheeled AFVs actually, the Boxer!

@@lukeandnatalie Actually my hometown is Frankfurt but after college i moved to Kassel for work. I am working as a teacher an my first school i worked was a school not far away from this bomb shelter wich is used as a music hall these days. The Bettenhausen neighborhood is an industrial area. It plays an important role for the defense industry during WW2. I am not sure but i trink the appartmemt buildings in the Dorrmannweg were build for the factory employes from the nazis.

When you come to Kassel you will find a town centre that is almost 100% 1950ish in style as aerial bombardments had nothing left there. Those above ground air raid shelters were often built in a way that they would look like normal apartment blocks or even historic buildings like town gates or towers to deceive allied reconnaisance. A huge number of them were left standing after the war. You can easily identy the surviving ones when you look closer at them, even when they were clad in red brick. You point at the small ventilation shafts in your video which are typical of them. Today they serve numerous purposes. Probably most interesting is their use as music studios. Even the worst heavy metal band could not disturb the neighbourhood because of their thick concrete walls. Cutting big windows into them is possible but of course very expensive.

So much history thank you for sharing! My grandfather's brother shared some of the same information before we went. The shelter in the video is a music studio/garage I believe.
