- John Keats, Isabella; or the Pot of Basil (1818), read by ananalyses
Some of the word pronunciations might sound a little off - I tried my best to keep the feel of the intended rhyme scheme, but it's not perfect!
I write stories, too. You can check out my author website here for free short stories and links to my books: madelinebrownw...

I really needed this, I wish this channel and the author will keep up posting these analyses which would comfort me with words of poetry
Thank you for making & posting this, I'm speaking on this poem for my capstone exam as an English major and it's very helpful to hear. You read beautifully, and this is a wonderful way to get friendly with the piece :)
An interesting choice to keep to the old word pronunciations. It's strange that there are such few but stark differences between the speech of nowadays and the speech of just 200 years ago.
I wouldn't be surprised but yes, I believe I am the first suscriber of this magnificent channel.
I sure hope you keep making stuff. I run a similar channel and hope to do more poems in the future.
I recently got into Keats, having listened to "The Eve of St. Agnes" and "Lamia," and having already known of "La Belle Dame Sans Merci." He's quickly become one of my faves.
That was beautifully read! Thank you!
Stacy's mom's got something going on
Like why'd she come out with just a towel on?
Stacy can't you see, that's public indecency?
I think that something's wrong, I'm uncomfortable 'round Stacy's mom
