- The Economy for the Common Good is a widely demanded alternative to the - inhumane, instable and unsustainable - ruling economic model. It is post-dualistic, overcomes both capitalism and socialism, and is based on the values that make human relationships flourish: empathy, dignity, solidarity, cooperation, justice, and sustainability. It is received enthusiastically worldwide, and more and more people, companies, universities and governments are joining the movement. Join us, too!

the world needs something like this desperately. Good on you Mr Felber! Loved your book 'Change Everything' in which you flesh out the details by the way.
So great! Yes!!
That can be an alternative, a possible solution for our world and our "end time" economy. I definitely agree.
Hello fruithead.
Bhutan is a monarchy.
And if there is no capitalism where U decide by Ur money
then a faceless bureaucrat or political hack will decide for u.
@@swamivardana9911 no-one is saying its gonna be like Bhutan we can take Bhutans idea and make it better dont think so small..
NOW that is what TED talks should be like ... Amazing talk .. Thank you
thank you
you really articulated clearly and simply this marvellious message that need to be implemented
Oh my God, why this video has got only 36k views?!?! It needs more! Thank you for bringing me hope in the better tomorrow!
why only 4100 people have watched this very important lecture?
My dream come true!...someday, I pray.
it's everyone dream come true except a very few
One day, when we find out, that money can't be eaten, plantede or.......
Something just occurred to me. In the current economic system investors are often quite removed from the company they're investing in, which leads them to put pressure on the company for financial returns - they're not there on site to see possible negative effects of attempting to maximise profit. The common good balance sheet would be a good tool to help overcome this problem to some extent, but I guess it's the whole culture of businesses approach to why-are-we-even-in-business that has to change more - also something that the Common Good way of doing things seems to want to address - but a much harder thing to see meaningful change in I guess, due to the 'momentum' of the status quo (it's quite entrenched in Western civilization's consciousness to chase the buck whatever the cost to society or the environment.)
This is the greatest the innovative economic model that is sustainable, equitable and practical. Every government should deeply look into that.
increible! voy a comprar su libro.
Finally a brilliant mind with a constructive vision of the desirable future. Why did I miss his publications for years? I always struggled with capitalism but did not find a suitable alternative, I guess this is a solution.
Look up cradle to cradle circular economy and ecology certification...solidarity and demand for more responsible manufacturing will create change.
I'm an American in the year 2021 and the world is in an even worse situation then when this video was made. Im in my mid 50s and I never thought I'd see it in my lifetime. The system in America has been going down hill and now it is collapsing. Incredible inflation and homelessness, and an almost non-existant middle class. The third world is right around the corner.
WIPO, (World Intellectual Property Organization), is a $16 TRILLION patent industry that apparently has no regulatory structures in place. The rentiers who profit from dangerous patents that threaten the health of society and the environment need to be reined in and international laws must be implemented.
Great talk. The first time I watched was in the AEMS summer course in Vienna.
A question about the voting system: how is it called? Where can I find more information about it? It is just mentioned that it comes from a paper from two mathematicians from Graz University.
Thanks!
regarding the voting system, he spoke about "sovereign democracy", maybe sth to google about
perfectly agree but i guess it required a big general data of cognition, shared and well conceived Values and consciousness.
Great inspiration for my work on mergers and acquisitions for the common good (sustainable M&A)
Thank you so much
One day, the financialised order will crumble.
Yep, Karl Marx predicted that years ago. It will inevitably happen. Either that or we first destroy ourselves by cutting down more trees.
And civilization will crumble and savagery will comeback.
we can only hope. and also that those other bogeymen predictions don't pan out.
@Cheri Merchant Overall the greenery is actually increasing. History is testament to the fact that destruction of a decaying civilization becomes the foundation for the next. If you are in US you are seeing the decay. On the other hand if you are in China you see the new.
I had a strong pain against all of the restrictions of income.
It's good to have rich people and it feels wrong to limit anyone from reaching their potential.
l am also in favor of an economic floor for folks so that no-one starts from zero.
The question in my head is how much should that be. 3k per year...6 k per year ...10k per year.
What is the floor ?
As long as one's own earnings are not the result of capital income or the work of other people. Is it?
where to sign for this movement?
i cant become a member because the country i reside in isn't listed (canada)
Great video
Why not simply move to N Korea where everyone is truly equal.

Super. Man spürt den Ethischen Ansatz gut beim ... . Gut ausgearbeitet. Weiter so.
Something as important to humanity as this has only 50k views over a span of 5 years while gangam style has over 3.5 billion in 7 years. That's just....... horrific.
A holistic view like this has much "Room for a View," to borrow from Virginia Woolf's title of her book, where the "view" stands for a coming together. Harold Bloom writes about the "mistakes" that are "built into the process." That process is symbolic of our law.
economic mafias don't care about economic sportsmanship.
At 29:21 a "Top manager minimum wage" rating between 1:1.000 (Austria) and 1:360.000 is shown. What are these numbers? Is there a law that limits the maximum wage of a manager or is that what is happened to be paid?
That is what happens to be paid at the moment. The references are in the book: www.changeeverything.info/
Howzit man! I like the idea and it's something I was looking for, but I do not understand how one thing in particular has been accepted about the economy or system by such a large organisation such as yours. What I'm talking about is tax, it stifles the economy and is wrong on the basis that it is mandatory, which means that firstly it needs to be enforced with even more energy, as I mentioned also that it simply stifles the economy by making everything more expensive, and lastly because it's not a choice there is no real need to provide value, or equivalent value in return. Tax cannot be apart of this new economy. Am I wrong?
maxime salary for a person, in a country , will be 6,000 usd or euros??? that was the proposal??
You won't even get a consensus on what is the "common good". One person might say that wealth should be taken from those that worked for it and given to those that didn't. Another person would believe that the common good would be for government to enforce the rule of law but let citizens be as free as they can be to enjoy the fruits of their labor which shouldn't be limited by some other group of people. What people mostly complain about is greed which has it's negative side but is in fact a great motivator. This emotion can push people to develop new, better, higher quality products and services then they would have if they were held back and heavily "taxed" for being successful.
It's not really taking it , as much as its getting it back ( that's what marx) said
How sad it is, that most are ingrates who take all they can take, while a minority are grateful and give all they can give. And so, the real issue is: Did we evolve, and being the fittest, deserve everything? Or were we created and deserve nothing?
For giving our hard earned income to the poor, that would make no sense, unless we had a debt of gratitude due and owed.
That is brilliant. What isn't good is that Britain has just left the EU. Looking at our government it's not surprising that they wanted to leave - they don't want a government for the common good, they want to feather their own nests.
there are things that need to be bought and things that need to be sold. maybe we should socialize things that need to be bought.
if not carried out by the elite; why not!
Hi KdG students😄
Everyone talks about the common good but they don't practice it enough.
People are busy going about their own businesses. In general it´s hard to envision the common good as something to take into account on a daily basis.
Agree with this? Google Andrew Yang, this is his platform.
"How to wreck the economy the easy way and establish communism fast"
22 minutos dura esta mierda?
Everybody talks about the economy but no one does anything about it.
We have to start listening, learning, and then demand changes. It takes a long time, cause almost all the politicians are corrupt.
@@christelmayland Where do we find politicians that aren't corrupt and have assurances that they won't become corrupted in office. The best government therefor is very limited government.
Has anyone presented this to Pope Francis?
I feel you would have a very strong ally in the catholic Church...
Honor God Today!

TLDR: Austrian guy unironically advocates for fascism
i like this approach, it regulates based on what people are currently feeling.
I do not want that my freedom is restricted by the feelings of the majority 16:13
I think that in most countries with free citizen voting people vote their feelings as it is. That restricts your freedom by the feelings of the majority as it is. I like the core idea of changing the institutional motivations for companies for unrestrained profits, and trying to put the profits in the context of social good (the ‘unseen hand’ from Adam Smith). That doesn’t restrict or demonize profits, except maybe to temper greed. Hopefully you are a person with positive ethical values, in which case under this system you would feel at least as free as you do now. Be well.
