Cat owner here. I've been using Sticky Buddy for years and swear by it. I'd say it lasts 2 or 3 years, before the stickiness begins to deteriorate. The secret to making it last is: use slightly warm water, put ONE drop of Dawn on your palm, lather it up, and then scrub the roller using only your sudsy hands. Rinse well. Roll on a DAMP towel to dry. ☺ Bonus tip: Use a hair catcher in the sink drain when you rinse or wash the Sticky Buddy.
I think both stick and hurricane would be the best. Use the hurricane to get the bulk and the sticky to get it perfect. So that you would not have to wash the sticky in between the use. You can let it air dry for the next time
The vintage dual sided brush is my favorite. The lint roller leaves a residue that actually makes your clothes stickier. The brush side on the vintage lint remover was for clothes that couldn't be easily washed, like suede or wool coats. The fabric needed to be dry and you would brush off the dirt, dust, mud, etc. A well-made piece of clothing that was given a proper brush cleaning would last a long time in good shape.
I still have my mom's 50s or 60s lint brush... It's a small diamond shape and has a cap... Best thing I've ever had. Things were made sooo much better back then
I have a German shepherd so, fur removal items are a must in this house. We used to use the sticky buddy, but after a while you'll find you need some liquid plumber hair clog remover for your sinks, and it also loses the stickiness after a while. We now buy huge packs of microfiber towels from Sam's for most of our house cleaning and they work extremely well for wiping off pet fur. For our dog's b-day, we make mini vanilla cupcakes and she gets to eat one.
It’s not a ‘freakin reviews’ video without Bailey! For her birthday you should get her a bunch of amazon dog products (ones you think she might actually like) and test them to see what her favorite one is 😁
My mom got me the fur wizard for Christmas and it's my favorite!! It's wonderful for getting dog/cat hair off the furniture and works magic on my clothes! I do however find myself mostly using it to get the "bulk" of the hair off. I use a sheet from a lint roller or the vacuum to get the last few stragglers and tah dah! No more hair!
I have the prototype of the sticky buddy I bought over 7-years ago. It still works! I have the traditional lint brush and the sticky roller, it depends on the fabric. I have sweaters that do better with the lint brush; because it smooths out the wool fibers. I don't use a towel on my sticky buddy. I use hot water and let it air dry by evaporation. It takes no time to dry, the water doesn't sit on it. Word to Bailey!
I've bought a three of the dollar store lint brushes: one has completely fallen apart; one has split but remains usable and one remains in one piece. The one still on one piece works reasonably well for getting small amounts of lint off of my dark suits. I find I do have to use it gently I also have a sticky buddy that I use for more serious lint removal. I've had the sticky buddy for over a year and, with repeated washing it does seem to become slightly less efficient. But, it still does a good job. Thanks for the comparison video--very informative.
I recently bought a new lint brush - design like the dollar store one, but built like the vintage model. It's strong and sturdy and does a great job with my lint (no pets, but I have long hair and lint-making laundry appliances.) I bought my brush at a sewing supply store (WAWAK) for $2.89 or so. I expect my grandchildren will be using it.
Regarding the vintage brush from Germany: the opposite side (that looks like a boar bristle hair brush) is used for more textured and rugged garments, such as tweeds. Those have fallen out of favor as synthetic fabrics have become more common as most of them don't tend to hold lint in tweeds and wool outerwear *as* strongly as natural fabrics as well as the rise of commercial dry cleaning services.
The 1970s one, you are supposed to try to get the larger stuff brushed away with the brush side, then follow up with the red side. It also can be used to brush off dirt on shoes prior to shining them. For wool jackets and sweaters that are quite textured, that other brush side comes in handy as well prior to using the red side in case anything is in the nooks and crannies of the cloth.
I think it’s all situational. The sticky buddy for the big jobs (when Bailey goes crazy on you) and the hurricane fur wizard for the quick jobs (normal lint/little bit of fur)
I have a Sticky Buddy that I bought several years ago. I love it and it works great. I like that it's washable and reusable and it has held up over time.
I used to use the pocket version of an item similar to the sticky buddy. It was identified by the orange colour of the rollers. I loved it! It lasted me a few years, all those uses and all those rinses. I wish I still had mine.
I have a "vintage" brush like yours. Swank was an important brand of widely available men's accessories of good quality. Not cheesy, not high-end. That lint brush also has a clothes brush and shoe horn, as you may have noticed, which makes it a 3-in-1 tool unlike the others. The lint roller can be used in any direction, so in my experience it picks up quite a bit of lint or pet hair and seems to last a long time. I don't see the relevance of washers and dryers because lint removers seem intended for removing lint from surfaces that won't be washed right away, such as pants, jackets, and upholstery. All in all, a very interesting review. Thank you for doing it.
I need to steal my mum's old lint brush - similar to yours but it doesn't have an actual brush on one side and hers is plastic, but well made. As for the sticky buddy - I bought one to clean off my stamper when I do nail art. Works a treat!
I’m always looking for a lint/pet hair remover.....frustrating especially when hairs weave through fabrics. I’ve tried them all.....We had the swank brushes in every room....packaging tape works great. Just wrap around your hand and tap til hair is gone. Always my go to when my sticky tape runs out....thanks Bailey for your assistance!
The vintage brush was made for the brush part to remove fur/hair and the red part to remove lint and tough fur. The Sticky buddy is great for someone without pets, who visits people with pets. Again the bristled area is for fur/hair bulk, and the roller part for lint. I used to have one, never dried it on the towel, just 'shook it dry' and it worked very well. Love the Huricane one, when you buy it you get two, the house and travel one. The dollar store lint roller is great for traveling, no worry if you leave it behind.
I've got a version of the sticky buddy. Hot water to rinse off the hair and use a microfiber cloth to dry. Occasionally use a dab of dish soap to clean the grime and grease off the "sticky buddy" version I have and again, hot water and microfiber cloth to dry. I love it.
Happy early birthday Bailey! Today's my corgi Daisy's 13th birthday so it's nice to hear there's another dog birthday to look forward to this month. We're making Daisy some baked salmon to celebrate, but Bailey sounds more like the kind of dog to enjoy a bag full of tennis balls for a present. Would you consider reviewing outdoor poop scoops? I've seen quite a few on the market (namely Walmart and various big box pet stores) and some get pretty pricey so it'd be nice to know which works best before potentially spending $30+. These comparison videos are some of the most useful reviews you do in my opinion, so keep them up!
I have both, the sticky Buddy and the red brush from the dollar store. I like both of them a lot. Depending on what I'm using them for the red brush usually out does the sticky Buddy. I've had my red brush for probably 12 years and it has not come apart. You may have just gotten a bad one or they may not be making them as well as they did when I bought mine. I love your videos. Keep up the great work!
Happy Birthday, Bailey! My Shelby turns 13 on Jan 22. I'm always in search of a better fur grabber but it looks like no one can improve enough to beat the fur wizard.
I love th sticky buddy, is never seen to commercial but I just picked it up in a store a few years ago and I use it all the time. That is of course when my brother hasn’t stolen it from the kitchen, for my usage and pet hair amounts I find that I don’t need to rinse it halfway through, perhaps my car just sheds less than your dog. I even brought one for my grandmother, that’s how much I enjoy the product.
I grew up with that Swank lint brush, and a similar one from Fuller Brush company (yes, purchased from a door to door salesman and everything). The ones we had the head rotated, so you could clean by swiping it either up or down. Cleaning it was done by swiping in the opposite direction, the lint or hair comes off in a clump.
I’ve used a Mr. Sticky for years, still works great. It came in a kit a pocket one 3”, mid sized 5-6” and 6” on a telescopic handle for up high jobs like curtains or ceiling fan blades. All work great. About $20-25.
So I use a lint roller when I do my nail stamping stuff - it cleans the nail polish off of the stamper without any problem. I wonder if the reuseable ASoTV one would work for that.
Nick Schafer hell yes! I didn’t have a drain catcher in my bathtub and the pipes in my home were backed up all the way to the road! I had to have rotorooter come out bc none of the augers from the store were long enough; what a nightmare that was.
Swank men’s accessories were popular gifts in the 60s. My Dad had a nice brush like the black part of your Dad’s brush, but with a long handle that ended in a shoe horn. Very beautiful hardwood accessories.
I've had the sticky buddy for a few years..but it tends to stick to everything wherever it's stored, and I've lost the clear wrapper thingie it came with. And I can't even remember the last time I used it. I did get the blue ones on your recommendation and do like those to brush cat hair off my work clothes. I don't have much luck with those washer/dryer rubber things though. Thanks, James! Oh! and I use the peel-off lint rollers in my craft work. It will take nail polish off of silicone stamping pads really well, and is portable.
After looking around, I found the 2 piece Sticky Buddy for sale by a Chinese supplier for less than $5.50 and free shipping. That's better than the going price of around $10.00 and shipping! Am going to try it out. Our last dog was a poodle...they do not shed, but do require quite a bit of clipping and grooming!
I use the 3M Scotch-Brite 50% Stickier lint rollers and they work really well. I haven't tried the Sticky Buddy or the Hurricane Fur Wizard before though.
I can vouch for the sticky buddy I've had mine for 4 yrs now and it's still good. I rinse it with hot water and dry It with a lint free towel. I love it.
You've cost me some money over the years and the Hurricane Fur Wizard was one of those purchases. Mine came with a mini Fur Wizard too. I have a German Shedder and both items have held up very well and still work fine. The fact that their bases clean off hair makes them superior to the tape or sticky hair removers since you don't have to stop in the middle of what you're doing and pull of a sheet of tape or wash off the roller.
In order to clean the vintage brush, all you need to do is brush it in the opposite direction with your fingers! The fur and lint come off easily. I have one I've been using for decades, and it still works beautifully!!! 🔥💜🔥
I have one of those laundry essentials lint brushes from dollar tree and it’s lasted me for years. 🤷♀️ Also have this silicone bristle one that works really well on furniture and carpeting, but not so great on clothes. It was $2 at Walmart in the pet aisle
I have no idea why I repeatedly come back to see your videos, or why I'm a subscriber ... Other than the fact that I think you're just a nice guy who deserves as many views as possible 😊
I gotta tell ya... I have an American Akita. He blows his coat twice a year, and right now, we're dead in the middle of one of those two times. To help put the fur-pocalypse into perspective, it's literally everywhere, on everything... even the cat (she loves to roll around in the piles he leaves behind). There's two things I can trust during these times. The first is a Furminator. It leaves him happy, and the hair comes off like crazy. But I can't use the Furminator on clothes. The one that works best is that Hurricane Fur Wizard. It picks up that very fine hair that my dog's undercoat is made of, first time, every time. It does so well that I had to buy a second one when the first one lost it's handle, then lost itself (I have no idea where it is right now).
My parents have a lab and my mom has adopted 10 cats, yes 10! She takes them in off the street and even she will tell you she has her limit now. Anyway, I need one when I visit their house, and they could use a few of the one you rate as best. I always love your reviews.
One cool thing about the sticky buddy is that it is GREAT to clean computer screens (or tablet screens) and phone screens. It takes off all the fingerprints and oils and leaves the screen pristine! Try it! It is also way cheaper than the ones that are specifically sold to clean tech screens.
Love Bailey! I have tried various lint rollers, nothing is as good as a 3M Scotch sticky roller. Yeah you gotta buy refills, but it works, works amazingly.
I like the regular sticky lint rollers for when my cat would come in from outside and lay on the bed. They'll pick up the sand and nymph ticks off the sheets, which are so small you can hardly see them (they're like a little black dot with legs, and hard to see even on a white lint roller), and I don't have to worry about finding critters on me.
The lint roller, second item, was an essential item for military uniforms. For open ranks inspections, we couldn't have any lint, hair or other items on the dress uniforms.
I keep tape rollers in the car and at work, use the sticky one at home sometimes, and actually have found for leggings and shirts, wetting my hands and running them down the clothes works as well, if not better, and is free LOL. That said, I have 4 cats and 2 dogs and definitely like to have all the handy gadgets I can find for the endless fur, esp since I wear a lot of dark colors :-) Thanks for helping your dad, Bailey! I think he should order you a a Bark Box for your birthday, and take you out for a burger!
I have a new dog that sheds more than I ever expected or planned. I am very surprised to hear about the fur zapper, I have never heard of that oh, I am going to look for that. What I have been using to remove dog hair from my clothing, is dryer sheets. Not that it's good for the washer and dryer, but It coats my clothes with wax (?), and the hair does not cling to them. I do not use the dryer sheets on my towels, or any other material that i dont want to absorb water.
I had a lint brush similar to The Swank brush (not the same but a lint brush made in West Germany), and I used it every day to remove lint. It was made back in the day where items like that were made to perform, when everyone wore suits,
Make sure you try the fingers of the sticky buddy on fabric car seats, furniture upholstery, and spot treatment of carpeting with a lot of fur. I'm pretty sure that's it's main intended purpose, rubbery bristiles grab it and bunch i up so you can grab it with your fingers and throw it away.
I love Bailey! My Ruby, wiener dog, passed away on Halloween. She was 13.5 years old. Yes we'd celebrate her birthday. Just a few presents, a nice long drive. She loved riding in the car so much so that even the police knew her! Oh by the way I can't believe I was amused by lint rollers for almost 13 minutes. Good job!
Every time you rinse off the Sticky Buddy, the hair goes down the drain which could lead to a stopped up drain. Is there some kind of strainer or other product that keeps hair from going down the drain?
I usually adopt my dogs from the pound so I never know their birthdays. Bailey was the star of you Perfect Polly video, which even though the product sucks, that has been your best video, IMO.
I have a fur wizard, and it came with a mini version. I leave the mini one in my car for hats and if I forget before I leave the house. The sticky buddy may be a good option to use before you leave the house, though!
Bro and sis in law sent me the ChomChom Roller a couple year’s ago, and I love it! You can find it on Amazon. Just push/pull...back and forth, and it works really well. I have a Malinois and Staffy/Pit/Chow Chow/Shepherd mix, so there’s plenty of hair here too! You should try it!
Cat owner here. I've been using Sticky Buddy for years and swear by it. I'd say it lasts 2 or 3 years, before the stickiness begins to deteriorate. Alan Minne great tips.

What about the sticky lint rollers? I have even used a couple of packing tape pieces with good results. Have fun and thanks for the video.
I'm kinda late to the party but I'd like to know how often do you wash it? Do you rinse it with every use?
Have you thought about using a micro fiber rag instead of a regular towel? Might work better.
I’ve always been curious about the differences, thank you for the video comparison showdown.
What is your favorite drain cleaner? You will need it for the wet sticky roller! Happy Birthday, Bailey. You don't look a day over 2!
Earthworm!
That's how they sell the Turbo Snake lol
potawatadingdong 🤣
Me2 using sticky roller
I like the rubber glove method
I still have my mom's 50s or 60s lint brush... It's a small diamond shape and has a cap... Best thing I've ever had. Things were made sooo much better back then

This is ideal. She gets some treats and Freakin' Reviews gets another video or two, and the viewers get more Bailey. Everyone wins!
2nd the motion!
@@ThatSoddingGamer 2nd the motion!
I give my cats special dinners and buy them some new toys for their birthdays. Both my cats were strays so we made birthdays up.
YES!!!

haha I have one too! not so sticky anymore though.

The $1 lint roller is good to keep in your car.
In Vegas, the $ store lint roller would melt into a puddle 😂
@@WalkingEmDry ew
My grandfather had the very same vintage lint brush, I remember playing with and asking my grandfather what swank meant , lol.
A good way to get clothes "linty" is to wash em with a paper towel in the pockets. I know from experience lol
The 1970s one, you are supposed to try to get the larger stuff brushed away with the brush side, then follow up with the red side. I used to use the pocket version of an item similar to the sticky buddy. It was identified by the orange colour of the rollers. I loved it! It lasted me a few years, all those uses and all those rinses. I wish I still had mine.
I love your video's. I hesitate to buy certain things until you review them now.

Does the rinsable roller come with a plumber to clear the clogged sink drain?
I remember my parents having a Swank brush when I was a kid...the handle was a shoe horn too, bonus usage.
Happy Birthday Bailey ❤️❤️❤️ make a video of a day with Bailey and see what toys and snacks she likes best.
Bailey like i know you really need me right now 😆 but Im definitely enjoying this dad! Let's do this!
I'm curious, does the base from the Hurricane work on the vintage brush?

I have the first one hurricane fur wizzard i love it !! By the time of the end of video shes going to be bald with all that hair falling off ! 🤣😂😅
Hands down the best review channel!
Hmm a reuseable one to use for step 1. then use the good ol sticky rollers.. Since those sticky rollers get the super small furs and stuff

I think we still have one of those vintage lint brushes, too. I suspect that you can still buy them at Walmart/Target/etc.
Washing pet hair down your drain every day could eventually lead to plumbing problems
That was the 1st thing I thought of as well when he went to the sink w the sticky ... Good point!
Same
Then use a drain catcher. May look nasty but you can just knock it into the trash after rinsing and it is inexpensive.

Could also just place a flat bucket in the sink or do it outside to catch the fur and then dispose of it in the garden
Bailey is such a sweet dog, and she is gorgeous
I really like you in these sun glasses. The round ones are nice, but these fit your face so well!
Swank men’s accessories were popular gifts in the 60s. My Dad had a nice brush like the black part of your Dad’s brush, but with a long handle that ended in a shoe horn. Very beautiful hardwood accessories.

thanks so much for this, I have a cat that sheds so I get a lot of hair on my clothes and my hats, this was very informative!

🔥💜🔥
we used to have one of those old style lint brushes like that swank one. i don't remember what brand it was but it worked great too
been using sticky buddy for a year now, have not been disappointed yet, plus it's much more cost efficient than lint rollers
James, does any of these lint brushes pick up loose sewing threads off the floor or flat rugs? Thank you.
i actually got excited for this one. having 4 dogs that are big sheders . love all your videos keep them coming!
Sticky Buddy a winner! That lil rake is for getting hair out of your carpet and works famously!
I like lint remover reviews because Bailey 😍
I have one of those laundry essentials lint brushes from dollar tree and it’s lasted me for years. 🤷♀️ Also have this silicone bristle one that works really well on furniture and carpeting, but not so great on clothes. It was $2 at Walmart in the pet aisle
I have no idea why I repeatedly come back to see your videos, or why I'm a subscriber ... Other than the fact that I think you're just a nice guy who deserves as many views as possible 😊
My nan had a very similar brush she use to use it all the time on me thankyou for bringing a great memory :)
Also another breakfast gadget is the master pan 5. You can make your whole breakfast only use one pan. Also use only one burner.
Thanks for the review! Washing hair down a drain seems like asking for a huge plumbing bill.
I wonder how those would work on short hair . My dog's hair kinda "weaves itself" into fabric .
Bailey is out here living her dream!
I needed this in my life.
Have Bailey compare some pet products for her birthday.
I’ve had a sticky buddy for years. Still works great. Roll it on paper towel for less lint.
Happen to be watching this on Bailey’s 6th birthday, so happy birthday Bailey!
When I watch your videos, I can’t help but think, “ Man, this guy is the worlds coolest dad”. 😂
Terrific review. My dogs lose so much fur, I'm surprised they still have fur. Ty for the review. Glad I can now make an educated decision based on it.
which is better when you need to run out the door and do a quick clean up? I found the sticky rollers work best
