YES! It's likely because her mom raised her to be easily exploited and this kind of abusive environment is all she's ever known. And unfortunately, she seems to be repeating the cycle with her girl group XOM pop or smth like that.

It only makes MORE sense atleast to my eyes why Kenzie and Maddy didn't want to go, more so Kenzie considering she had JUST done a podcast about her in ALDC and people need time to recuperate, it's already bad that their vulnerable moments are recorded for the masses, and not to mention the constant wave of people rediscovering them. They are allowed to not want to attend the reunion and that's what they did.

Always the teachers pet tends to have the most pressure on them and are expected to be perfect... The reaction from the toxic fans shows that Maddie and McKenzie made the right choice. Yes! The golden child suffers too, just in unique ways. At ten years old, Maddie had a lot of perfectionist, people-pleasing, and anxious behaviors. For fear of Abby rejecting her, Maddie endlessly tried to stay in Abby's good books because the alternative was too much to bear. There were ZERO boundaries in that relationship (see: Abby forcefully kissing Maddie on the lips when she was 11, Abby crying to Maddie in a room alone for simply obeying her mother when she was 9, etc, etc, etc). I'm tired of everyone saying that Maddie had it the best, or that she doesn't have a right to complain because she was the favorite. Her trauma is valid and no one else's place to comment on.
Maddie and Kenzie did not have an issue hanging out with the girls. They just didn't do the reunion show.
Think about the last kind of giggle statement made about.... How viewers would want to watch if Abby stormed the reunion.

Maddie and Kenzie are doing what’s best for them. Some people just don’t get childhood trauma. I understand where they are coming from I wouldn’t want to go through that again either. Also them seem so much happier with each other than they probably would be if they were at that event.

I get where Maddie and McKenzie are coming from BUT, to blame the show is a little silly because their mother had the choice to be on the show or not to be. That was HER choice to put her kids through that, she could have backed out (like she did when she wanted to) at any time in the beginning. They stayed for YEARS.

They signed a contract were they can't leave. And if they wanted to they would have to pay a lot of money. SIA actually helped them a lot to leave the show.

Maddie, Kenzie, and Nia not being a part of the reunion would make way more sense if Abby was a part of it. Because doesn't their trauma mostly come from her?? Kinda makes me wonder if part of their trauma had to do with being with all the girls too? I know they were together for Paige's birthday but JoJo and Kalani were not there. Maybe all of them together would cause more trauma triggers? Or maybe the producers?? PTSD is an interesting thing. I have it too and it's a never ending battle. You just never know what will trigger it. I feel for them.
Sure abby may not be there, but they will TALK about dance moms. It will re-open wounds that they are trying to stitch

It’s not that Maddie is too cool, it’s how the show made Maddie look, always being the favorite, all the mom’s “jealous” of Maddie because she gets the most attention than the other girls. Abby trying to ruin Maddie and Chloe’s relationship. Plus the constant fighting that affects the girls dancing
