Nice one Dave, thanks - I was at this match! Bloody cold, classic game of two halves, Rushy at the end! Travelled home with three mates who were Spurs fans and laughed the whole way. Ah, good days!

This brought back memories. Live Sunday game on the BBC. You can see the snow around the pitch. There was snow where I was watching the game in Cornwall. Unusually, there was a flock of lapwing on our lawn, one of which flew into and shat upon our lounge window while we were watching the game. Molby got LFC out of the cart that game, who overcame Everton’s 11 point advantage-which seemed unlikely in the first half of this game- and went on to win the double. YNWA

Great video as per Dave Waller.
Talk about a game of two halves. We were murdered in the first half yet came back to snatch it at the end after playing superbly in the 2nd.

I remember watching this live on TV, at the time. As an Everton fan, I was so disappointed to Liverpool win it at the end! Amazing to see the empty areas in the terraces too!

Thanks, enjoyed this, remember it quite well. Waddle had tremendous abilities but heading wasn't one of them, bless him - he had to bury that header to make it 2-0. Rush was lethal, that last-minute winner was such a sickener, lol. Ah, well.

Spurs needed to kill Liverpool off in the first half but couldn't, chances were there and grobbelaar wasn't certain at times.
To beat a Liverpool team back then needed a team like spurs that was hard to come by to be at their best for 90 minutes.
    Liverpool were a great team.

Hunting down the ball 2nd half. Cornering spurs in their own half and harassing from the front much like we do today.

Not much cultured football. Very much long ball in the air football. It looked like a sunday league game 😅.
Strong character from Liverpool and as Jimmy said; "never write off this liverpool team "

We actually played some great football that season and scored a ton of goals - 138 actually. I agree though this is the most long ball stuff I have ever seen us play. The pitch here was bone hard like cement which probably was the reason. The game probably was only played for the live TV

John Motson really is a very overrated football commentator, he likes the sound of his own voice, waffles a lot and makes silly, patronising comments. One of the worst football commentators, definitely not one of the best!!!! Hate listening to him, just plain nonsense.
