Tom is probably the cartoon character that has had the most pain inflicted on him in the history of cartoons. I mean, Donald Duck, Daffy Duck, Wile E Coyote, and plenty of others have regularly been smacked around, but Tom is on another level! Yeah, the old Tom and Jerry cartoons are just still hilarious. The sound effects and iconic Tom screams just make give the action way more impact than even many modern cartoons! If he hasn't already, I hope JC does a video with clips from other Tex Avery cartoons (non-Tom & Jerry) as some of those still make me bust a gut! He was a cartoon genius!

I feel it doesn't hit as well, because the old cartoon was hand drawn, while this is CGI. The old one had soul to it as well. This one is a labor of love too, but not anywhere near the OG one.
its so weird they didn't keep using the original Tom yells. It's at least half the reason why the OG was so funny, the other half being the setups felt more organic. The newer painful moments feel contrived half the time.
I mean in other tom and jerry movies none of toms OG yells werent used again 2 of them were in the 2021 remake right ? all of his original yells were carried over in the tom and jerry show but one of his main yell were used 3 times 3:42 3:59 and 4:10
It's the creativity that lacks. In Classic Tom and Jerry you had some slow but funnier moments like a ball smashing a circle through his teeth and he goofy smiles as the other teeth fall out or when the groin grinds through a tree/telegraph pole. There's no creative juices like that in these modern ones and the screams happen a bit too often. Not every episode of the classics had him scream.
Not every episode of this had him scream as well, and creativity is just a buzzword most of the time like this instance here, there may not be that many drawn out moments but that says nothing about creativity thats just one formula of doing a joke.
