Also bought a BC Rich from Red Blanket and there was no set up, completely unplayable, but then I bought 2 new BC Rich’s from Sweetwater and both played amazing out of the box.
I want another one and thinking of going through sweetwater did red blanket tell you the same thing they told me? Oh i was on vacation and my employee was supposed to set it up
I never contacted Red Blanket about the set up, I ended up doing it myself, but I won’t buy another guitar from them, just go through Sweetwater if you want a new BC Rich would be my advice.
This is the reason I prefer to buy cheap or used stuff and swap the pickups out keep cost to a minimum and build a a good cheap DoomStick…that being said I would spend money on a Monson they seem to be high quality and not extremely expensive for a custom shop the same can be said about wood rite

I bought the same green B as you. That wrap around bridge is the reason i returned it.
I bought directly from BC Rich. No setup. Came in the hard case, strings flat and dead to the fretboard

Here's the single best advice you'll ever recieve from an anonymous internet nobody, just bite the goddamn bullet already and have Dunable make you a guitar.

@@TheDistortionPrinciple And just so you know, I put my money where my mouth is, as I just ordered a custom bass vi from Dunable myself. Now, I had the $$$ to basically get anything I wanted (more or less under 5K), but I decided on a US-made Dunable b/c 1) I knew they could make the guitar I wanted, and 2) they won't screw it up.
Now seeing as how you seem to appreciate the doom/Sabbath/70s vibe, I should think that Dunable should be a no-brainer for you.
This is a great example why I buy PRS guitars, SE models. It comes over 1/2 the price, set up, and with gig bags. PRS SE models can do everything that a BC Rich can do, but better, and can do crazy detuned Stoner Doom Sludge tones. I'm never looking at another brand again except for Fender.

I have the same issue with my ESP, it was fine with 9s , but when i switched to 10s ,i`ve had nothing but issues with the set up.

Yep they blamed it in he was "on vacation " and the employee didnt set it up. Which leads me to believe there is zero factory setups going on or something
This happened to me with a Jackson Rhoads. Every single thing on the guitar had to be adjusted.

Dude, you are correct. E s oecually with this axe with a floyd system. There not a regul a r guitar. But boy let me tell ya, when yheir set up nice. Wooooo smokin. Gotta dial a bit of high end off take som e of the crisp outs them. Now I have one comeing because I heard they changed things around good. But truth is, I know this needs set up, not just bridge, for me, the Floyd needs some fixn for sure. Whenever i get an new axe and theynsay tje factory setsmthem up. Uhhhhhh no. You always gotta get them set yp man. Always. Intonated. Even when they say they do it. Its always hust best to know. I finally said screw,it some years back. And think about it. Even if its set up. Chances are they dont have it exactly where you want it. Im an amomaly. Never wheee i want it lol.
Yep. Tweaklng a set up is to be expected but the strings were literally laying on the frets so much that it was unplayable
Only BC ever played was a Warlock at GC. Unfortunately, it sounds like crap but still love the way it looks. Crazy with that price range not setup! I'm going to get a Woodrite Warlord guitar next time they're available at same price range of your guitar. Good luck with the next BC Rich guitar!

I'm a huge BC Rich fan, but what you're saying echoes a lot of what I've been hearing. So sad to see to see what used to be an underrated brand become overrated due to bad business practices by both Bernie Sr. and Jr. Then Jr. had a mental breakdown, I guess, and sold all the rights away. Don't feel bad, I heard even Jackson players are complaining about a dip in quality. If I were you, I'd spend that money on a good NJ Series from back in the day- at least the ones I tried way back had a way better setup. And if second hand, you might get a case, too, for less money. Good luck to you, and thank you for being honest about the situation. If the fanboys keep defending and BC Rich doesn't get criticism, they'll keep doing what they're doing and we'll see our beloved brand die again. Good luck, hope you find it...

@@TheDistortionPrinciple They had the right idea. They wanted to bring it back to the boutique era of BC Rich. That's fine. Those things were out of this world. But with the "boutique" stigma, you pay out the ass. No big deal if you buy PRS or Gibsons, or even some American made Strats, but if the set up sucks, tools don't work, price is too high, no case/gig bag for the price, how boutique is that? Gibsons are notorious for shit quality control now, I'm not fond of Fenders, but at least they're set at the factory. PRS are good, because your friends tell you they are. At least they're set up. What's in common? They all cost too much. Check out Schecter. They don't have the look nor feel of a real BC...

1499 for a guitar that has high frets, no setup and not even a gig bag. Hard pass from me
Man its insane what they are getting away with. My replacement came in. Nuts the nut cut lower but that's fairly normal. I ordered a stealth as well, also high frets. Got it Plek'd by sweetwater and now it needs a fret wrap because the damn thing still rings out after you mute the strings
Fuck BC Rich. that company gets worse and worse. recently, they hired Iconic Guitars in Carlsbad, CA, to build a bunch of BC Rich guitars. After Iconic guitars leased a larger facility, hired a bunch of people, and started filling the order, BC Rich canceled the order and Iconic had to back out of their lease and lay off the people they had hired.
BC Rich screws over American guitar builders and lays off other companies' employees with their poor decisions.

@@TheDistortionPrinciple I have a $2000 "platinum" Ironbird I can't sell, because the headstock and body are dysfunctional, it won't sit on a stand, won't safely hang on a hanger, and it fell after owning it for a couple months. The neck joint now has a crack I am hoping is just in the finish, but I will have to do a full finish restoration to see if it is.
@@TheDistortionPrinciple That Ironbird is the most expensive POS music gear I've ever bought. I own 8 guitars all valued over $1500 a piece. My most expensive guitar is $6000.

@@TheDistortionPrinciple all killer choices. The beast has a huge body so you need to be a big guy to handle them relatively comfortably
i preordered one of the legacy beast last Aug it was supposed to be released nov 11 then dec 23 here it is a week into feb and still no guitar i am pretty they haven't even made them yet.
