A city I have been working on before with very little problems is now unplayable and experiences a crash to desktop. Perfection is the enemy of good. Two months of hard work has now been erased.
Just out of curiosity, are you doing these "tests", after the updates have fully "applied"? It takes time for the update to actually apply all the fixes and some demand that various buildings are replaced. If it is in the process of "updating" and if you have not changed the old buildings to be replaced by the new buildings, then that may severely impact operation speeds. For the new buildings and some optimizations, the graphics and shaders have to be rebuilt and recompressed too. Unfortunately, this isn't like most games where you can just open and run an old game, and expect it to just "be better". They have a LOT of experimental code and drivers used in the running of the game. The simulation has to virtually "reboot", but from a point where it was in a prior version, to a point where all the older version content is gone and replaced only with newer generated content.
You're the only channel that truly shows before and after cities skylines ii patch/update performance. Please keep it up!
It's evolving just backwards
I’m using a rtx 4080 and with 100k population, I still have 27 fps. This patch is terrible
Its cpu based
@@BP-MK1 No. More GPU based

Nothing has been erased, just downgrade or wait for the next patch
I loved C:S 1 and wanted to change my PC to get something able to run C:S 2 in good quality. Your videos are EXACTLY what I nedded. Thanks a lot
10400f 2060 super. Unplayable. No matter of settings
.... omg... I abandoned it a long time ago due to various problems... it doesn't seem to have improved... how disgusting.
RAM and VRAM usage reduced a lot, but at a bad cost
A lot? Its not a lot of reduced resources lol
Its so terrible you forgot "i" in the thumbnail lol
Welp, time to fix it...😔
How much performance do you want?
No
