On the cat allergy thing, sometimes it's worth it lol. My mom is very allergic to cats, still took in an old cat who had to live on the street when she was younger, kept it happy and fed and played with it and just put up with the watery, itchy eyes and sneezing when she was around it so she and her friends could keep the cat happy for it's last couple months, that cat LOVED her it constantly wanted to be around her and purred when it was with her
