I was thinking the EXACT same thing! Colin's takes can be interesting at times, but 2 things to note: 1. When he is wrong, he is savvy enough to realize that people would tune in to hear him say it...ie. When Colin's Was Right, When Colin's Was Wrong...yet another great business move to keep people tuned into his show. 2. His intellectual curiosity is top notch. That makes him one of the best interviewers in sports...up there with Dan Patrick...unassuming but always curious. Then you add one of most transcendent storytellers of our time like Tom Rinaldi?? Magic!! Yet again...2 more horrible personnel decisions by ESPN flourishing on another network.
John Madden is a living legend. He’s got lines that people will never forget; and every broadcaster today just wants 1. Truly an honor to grow up with John Madden calling games.
This is the best segment I have watched in a long time. I was captivated by hearing Tom tell stories of sports icons and Colin surrendering to the moment. I was glued to my screen every second and did not want it to end. Thank you FS1, Colin, Joy, and Tom for the incredible interview.
Brilliant storytelling. Sports broadcasting in its finest form. I hadn't been a fan of Rinaldi over the years, but in this segment, he was outstanding. Much respect to both.
When alone, Colin can sometimes be a little arrogant and cliché… but as an interviewer, he is down right excellent and this interview in particular is exemplary of that. Amazing content and great job on both sides 👏🏼
Colin cowherd and joy randomly popped up on my Facebook when I was using Facebook about a year and half ago and I been listening to this show ever since.
Tom Rinaldi is unequivocally one of the national treasures of media. Unmatched storyteller who can provoke emotions in you at a moment's notice, he has a perfect documentary voice. Keep up the great work, Tom.
31 years old and John Madden was the broadcaster of my very first football game I ever watched and from that day on, I have solidified John Madden to be the essence of the game of Football forever! He made me fall in love with beauty of the game.
I’m just glad he’s no longer doing all those depressing stories on ESPN. Also, when I saw this being promoted 2 weekends ago on FOX NFL, I thought Madden had died.
My college teammate was drafted by Raiders when Madden was there . I asked him what he was like ;”Just like you see him on TV “ My buddy got a SB ring .
I have a lot of respect for Tom. He asks the questions that we all want answers to, but somehow without force and indignant manner others do. But when he talks "Tiger" now, he becomes just another interviewer... I live close to where Tiger had his crash. I know the road like the back of my hand. It was a clear sunny morning. That road is safe at 65 when you pay attention, but unsafe at 25 when you don't. Tiger was driving over 80 where the limit is 45. HE COULD HAVE KILLED SOMEONE! Why isn't Tom asking that question?
So they end the broadcast with players who never played for him. Virtually the entire roster of his 70s Raiders are in the hall and yet they hardly spoke to any. I love matt millen but he never played for John. They should of ended it with a Raider. No disrespect to LT.
Listen to Flippin Bats: foxs.pt/flippinbats
Best interview and subject matter in years Colin. Awesome. I love Madden. Best Football ambassador ever!
The best interview I've listened to in years. Tom is amazing and kudos to Colin for prioritizing the 30 minute segment. 👏
Excelente commentary
Agreed 💯
I was just about to type the same thing. This interview legit choked me up
The way Tom Rinaldi speaks and tells a story can truly test one’s emotions. Legendary!
Amazing storyteller, Tom's a great talent. An All-Time Herd interview, can't wait for the documentary 🔥🔥

Phenomenal interview. Well done on both sides.

It’s great to appreciate someone while they are still alive to smell the flowers .
Colin cowherd and joy randomly popped up on my Facebook when I was using Facebook about a year and half ago and I been listening to this show ever since.
Joy complements him so well. She is smart and has unique additions to Colin's show.
I could listen to Tom for hours

This feels like sports therapy, Rinaldi is brilliant
RIP to an absolute legend, John Madden 💔
Masterclass from two of the best doing it. Lotta heart and lotta skill - glad I caught this!
Can’t wait for madden doc too
The absolute best sports interview I've heard in a very very long time. Wow. Brought a tear to my eye frfr
This documentary is needed now more than EVER! RIP Madden!
Weird how he passed days after it. Almost like a goodbye video.
Colin! you need to do a 2 hour special with Rinaldi... I could watch for hours!
Tom Rinaldi is absolutely terrific. He is in a league of his own.
31 years old and John Madden was the broadcaster of my very first football game I ever watched and from that day on, I have solidified John Madden to be the essence of the game of Football forever! He made me fall in love with beauty of the game.
Rip John Madden 💔🥀🏈🏟
A Football HOF Coach an a legendary man!
Rinaldi should be a weekly guest if at all possible
Great Listen chills throughout the kisten what a breath of fresh air
R.I.P John Madden . A true legend & a true Raider.!! RN4L!!
Love the Saban story! That is why he's the greatest coach of all time!
Madden still going strong, mos def going be watching this doc.
I’m just glad he’s no longer doing all those depressing stories on ESPN. Also, when I saw this being promoted 2 weekends ago on FOX NFL, I thought Madden had died.
I know its mostly about Madden, but that story about Nick Saban's dad was really interesting!
Great interview!
John Madden was so fun to listen too..
Rip the goat one of one
Whoever allowed Tom Rinaldi to walk away from ESPN should be fired tomorrow
RIP John Madden . The voice of football growing up for me
Love this!
This is when Colin can be great. None of the hot takes, etc. Just using his sports history knowledge for an excellent interview.
Alllll. The voice of madden
I'm trying to find it on youtube tv and I cant find the all madden documentary :(
Best interview I’ve seen in a minute.
Colin is a really great interviewer imo
Love Colin just doesn’t say much or talks over . Wish most interviewers would do the same .
Madden ‘93 and ‘95 take me back to elementary school
RIP Legend 🙏🏻
What an awesome moment
colin is such a 🐐
More long form interviews please.
That was fantastic
Tom could narrate the alphabet on audible and it would be a best seller. The alphabet.
My college teammate was drafted by Raiders when Madden was there .
I asked him what he was like ;”Just like you see him on TV “
My buddy got a SB ring .
Not true ; Fred Biletnikoff and Stabler sat on their helmets all the time .
We had that rule at UC Davis
The Best!
This was a good interview. Lots of good stories. I'm left wanting more. I guess that's a sign it was good.
RIP to a football legend
RIP John Madden... 🙏

Why isn't Tom asking that question?
LET CHILDREN BE FREE OF THEIR FATHER'S OCCUPATION.
Sitting on helmet was a Raider tradition. Mike Shanahan stopped that.
RIP Jon
Jack winning the Masters in 1986 trumped Tiger's win for me.
RIP JOHN MADDEN
I swear to god if he says anecdote one more time
Didn’t Ben Hogan’s career end due to a car accident? Erie how history repeats with Tiger.
One knee equals two feet. 😜
“Who else randomly started watching them and now it’s just a everyday thing?” ❤️
Madden is gone. This documentary is now for history and it is.......unbelievable.
The documentary is one of the classics

Oprah yea Oprah and the weight🤣😂🤣😂
Stop living in the past. Madden isn't around anymore. Stay current.
It's not too late, you still have time to delete this terrible take.
@@deweyfinn1497 Madden isn't around anymore. In what way am I wrong?
It’s a documentary. Just like the Bulls Last Dance.
@@edwardcoit9748 That was also dumb.
John Madden is my least favorite sportscaster of all time
