First time watching I was like .. „what tf is even going on?“😂 (in a good way)
and I actually had that moment repeatedly during the season😂
the robot being very religious is straight from the comics. she tries to covert Vanya to christianity
The genius of that dance-off scene is that it's pretty unexpected at first, but it's also definitely something the show would do, so after the initial surprise I didn't even question it. At the same time it's so silly and fun that I completely forgot about whatever that was that hit Diego in the face, until he snapped back out of it.
That's one of the more inventive ways of doing the 'it was all a dream!'-gig.
In season 2 each character appears in a different year, that's why for 5 it was like a week, and others like Klaus, Allison and Vania could make a life and have a family
Can I just say how much I frigging love you guys? Because you're the only reactors whose episodes I watch multiple times: reaction reruns. I cannot get enough of the Mandalorian Luke reaction, it makes me giddy every time. Then, "Dude! They're doin Thrawn!" Squid Game reactions were exceptional, The Boys are hilarious ("Looooks like I haaate it!"), love that Adam always keeps it real when CGI is ehhhhh, iffy, or logic flies out the window, and that Jay just hits every laugh, cry, and emotional beat identical to my reaction. Thank you for being genuine and unafraid to be emotional badasses. It's a sign of true devotion. Adam and I are closer in age (I'm 45) and, I'm prolly wrong, but it seems like he feels as I do, which is, "SHUT UP SHUT UP, pretentious SW fans, with your ridiculous nit-picking! In my day, you got 3 films and books and you LIKED IT. People begged for more, Lucas gave, it was kinda good. Now, we are getting the stories of all the characters we have been wondering about for literal decades. "What's Boba's story? What did Obi-Wan do all those years watching Luke other than, y'know, watching Luke? These shows are individual films custom made for the fans based on what they've seen, haven't seen, and demanded more of since 1977. Disney gives us what we want...but it's not good enough.

I just finished the show last night. You two are in the ride of your lives. Im still mentally mesed up.
Season 3 is a wild ride guys, they stepped this up a notch from season 2. All i'll say is everything is different this season, but still amazing! Different timeline though. Also the Universe is in peril, not just the world this time around.
In general I definitely agree with you but I think it’s very hard to compare season 2&3 with one another because the whole „vibe“
for season 3 is just so different. Season 2 also had it’s very own vibe same goes for season 1.
It’s hard comparing the seasons in general because I think every season was so different from one another.
But I loved every single one so far! And I’m absolutely stoked for season 4!🙋🏼♀️🪩💃🏼🥂✨

@@nekonebitan2912 For me, it was the out of nowhere introduction of that one character and the absurd way the Umbrellas /continue/ to be general morons and dysfunctional to an unfun to watch degree.
I thought they'd get their shit together after S2, but obviously that isn't happening, so I'm done.
@@Adanu191 characters were written badly this season I agree, there's a lot of to deep dive in about flaws of this season but I still kinda enjoyed it because it has a certain vibe. If I forgave season two and three of Stranger Things, I'll forgive Umbrella Academy also hahaha

I may or may not have binged the entirety of Season 3 the night it came out...you guys are in for a ride.
Alison did NOT fully grasp the nature of completely altering a timeline. Quite bizarre to see that you were never adopted and then assume that your kid still exists.
I mean, really it's relatively consistent with her character. Maybe partly because of her powers but mostly because of her recent experiences over the past few years, as a person, Allison is basically a big ball of delusion. She already had a finicky relationship with truth from the moment she learned to talk. And then every time she's tried to build something real it's been quickly superseded by unreal superpower-related drama: her faith in her acting career crumbled due to unwillingness to actually do it the hard way, her marriage for the same reason, then her growing sibling relationship with Number Seven in season 1 was torn apart by something that Reginald got her to do when she was 4 years old. Then she tried to commit to a real, down-to-Earth life in the sixties with Ray, but there would have been an air of surrealness the whole time, simply because even while she's fighting for civil right, she KNOWS how the fight ends, and that her aid isn't necessary for her side to win. So in a sense she's still playacting. And THEN even that illusion falls apart, and she NEEDS to believe that somehow Claire exists, because otherwise she is going to go absolute apeshit right there and then.
With shifting realities and timelines featuring so prominently in not just her life but her relationships, I would bet that her mind's just given up on the idea of objective truth and she's running on a sort of high-functioning psychosis. Even pre-Season 1, the other members of the Academy found their ways to cope, by diving into either the real or the absurd, either of which puts a sort of distance between them and the trauma of their experiences. Allison never did, so all of these losses have hit her right at home every. Single. Time. I mean, really, it's only a matter of time until she goes full Purple Man, insisting that the world around her alters itself to what she thinks it ought to be.
I couldn't stand her to the point I had to skip some of her scenes.

Obviously a lot of things changed and it wasn't a logical thought, but I think given how desperate she was to see her again it's understandable. She wanted to believe so until she saw proof she wouldn't allow herself to believe otherwise.

Actually, the comic book series isn't finished. However, it appears Gerard Way is in no rush to return to it. So, Volume I is The Apocalypse Suite and Volume II is Dallas, which were the basis for Season 1 and 2. Volume III was Hotel Oblivion, which is partially the basis for Season 3.
There was also a spin-off series called You Look Like Death: Tales of the Umbrella Academy, which is a prequel to the main series (which could be adapted in flashbacks, I suppose, but seems unlikely to be the basis for a future season).
The next comic book volume, which is Volume IV, is going to be called Sparrow Academy, and has not yet been released. However, it is clearly being adapted as part of Season 3 as well. So, while the comics will at some point continue, the show is now essentially ahead of the comics, and may have to do its own thing.

I’m gonna be totally honest! I’ve had a couple of days to let it sink in and I gotta say
I loved the season! 😌✋🏻
They really did something completely different and kind of unexpected with this season and its characters that just feels incredibly new and fresh!
Before the season came out I’ve heard many people being afraid that the whole „the apocalypse is there and we have x amount of days left“- thing could get old eventually but they did a fantastic job with it this season so it doesn’t feel repetitive like at all! 🌝🙋🏼♀️
I do have to say tho that with this season it took me a couple of episodes to „get really into it“. I think the season starts off slower and everything feels kind of „all over the place“ but from episode 4 on - I was hooked!
And I really couldn’t WAIT where all this was going and how it was going to unravel! 🙃
That was when shit really started to pick up and it didn’t slow down anymore right until the very end!
We’re getting so many interesting twists and turns this season as well as many interesting character moments and character pair- ups that I personally would’ve never expected and never thought how much I needed them in this show😂✋🏻😩
anyways I think the best way to possibly describe this season is a fucked up- wild ride - fever dream full of madness✨💃🏼🪩🥂

So looking forward to your reactions for all of these episodes. Only just finished the whole season myself at 6am Sunday morning, but that's because I rewatched seasons one and two before heading into three so I could remind myself what happened. Helped to understand this ride better.
Found it funny though that Ben's hair change from season 2 episode 10 to Season 3 episode , he had the messy slightly in the eyes "emo" hair at the end of season 2. Guess they decided they didn't like that choice going into season 3, or they forgot what they'd done... or maybe they found they didn't have enough hair to recreate it two years later 🤔

Umbrella is Back, baybaayyyyyy! My wife and I really struggled with S2, felt all over the place. This season also feels all over the place and unpredictable, but in a way that feels like they know where they are going with this. And it is delicious, delicious madness :D

The green screen with #1/Marcus working out & flipping for the crowd looked egregiously awful lol
Marcus was the best and it's a shame we lost him this early while the other trashy ones kept going.
One more thing the 1st episode is just a bit weak compared to the rest of the season, and yes we did get that dance off, and a short battle. But it was a great set up for the plot. It was all about meeting the family, The Sparrows. Now the real fun begins in episode 2.
None of the other reactors I've watched so far have caught that they changed the number of women who miraculously became pregnant...interesting little development?
Watching the dance off with no music just may have been my favorite thing to watch and not hear, EVER!
