Is this video just fake and you guys added sound effects for an alarm and made the screen blink red because as you run through there was no sign of red blinking lights and the camera man had no reaction what so ever
I work at one power plant a nuke one. Okay so they went in with no thermometer and the light part I think this building was made in the 60s in my opinion because look what the gear looked like so back then there was no red lights at all and it is illegal because it connected with the earths core so that’s a lot of damage and when they in in the building there was no alam 🤔 . Like or comment if you think I was right or wrong 🤗
How does one connect a powerplant to the core of earth? Like the furthest we gone was not even thru halfways and the drill burnt off as they were digging so uh...
I think English is not this person’s first language. Something about the reactor core, and it melting down into the Earth got mistranslated or something lol.
@@StrangePlaces Ik but still, the window of the observation deck would just melt... If we ever would even install it, like halfways the way down our body would just disconnect from the channel, I mean cells would just go bye bye and would burn away so uh... If the radiation was not enough, how could we get coolants down...?
Holy shit! That was an epic escape. Did security or police or anyone like that show up after the alarm was triggered? Also it sounds like a machine or something was spooling up right after you pushed that button. What in the hell did you activate?? hahaha Was that a security alarm? Or was that alarm to alert people that something was wrong with the plant? Sorry I'm asking a lot of questions that you probably don't know the answer too haha. Anyway, great video!
Well it wouldn't meltdown as its a coal-fired power plant. But there are certainly a million other things that could have resulted from doing whatever he did.
Nothing will happen if you press any button. First of all, this is an abandoned power plant, which means, there will be no HT supply to any of those boards. If there is no HT motors, and also no coal or fuel, only thing you can do is to press some buttons, may be some alarms may go off or some LT motors may get turned on
He's right about the part saying how cool it is that that one small part of the machine acts as a really big part of the machine as a whole; thats so cool how we got to that point in being able to understand and build such machines
If you think we’ll believe an old crap dried boiler can startup in an instant well then...heh But there might have been a few buttons that could really trigger a system testing that set off some of the alarms ( for testings and drills of course. In which you’re so close to triggering one. That red button I believe sounds the general alarm if it’s still powered). And that power plant is still connected to the grid. Doing something rash on the still powered control could damage the systems or the grid or if the consoles were damage you could even electrocuted yourself. Really you can still hear humming from the transformers those are some high voltage stuffs right there. So best that you don’t touch anything powered or not
Someone told me that the electricity from those transformers could have arced over to me, making me a human Tesla coil. Lol. Ya it’s still pretty dangerous, although they are demolishing it, and I don’t think it’s hooked up to the grid still.

Cool vid, I love the massive turbine hall with the huge generators, and the old style control room with all the big clunky switches, buttons and display dials. Shame it's all going to be torn down. Liked the distant view of central Chicago from the roof.
It’s actually a coal fired plant. I think a combination of Illinois, Chicago, and federal environmental regulations got it shut down. Or maybe they weren’t making any money anymore.
Great video dude. Don't worry about the haters on your ass because you triggered the alarm. It didn't do any harm. Pretty sure that place was being decommissioned by the looks of it, that alarm was probably set off because a whole bunch of equipment and sensors were ripped out of the plant already, and the indicator that set it off was confused. Why is there so much negative comments here? They wouldn't leave a active power plant open like this! Surely there may be someone else who realizes this.
