You can leave the simple knot in (it doesn't undo when you untie the shoe). Or try using the ukrainian method of lacing the shoe. It uses the same technique for the tying, but the way it is laced means you don't have to do the simple beginning knot.
homie, you can do the first knot like this as well. you just pull the loops all the way through the first time then do it again for the real knot. no way you didn't figure that out yet
This does make a granny knot instead of a square knot though which is much more unstable than the proper way to tie your shoes. They will come undone and loose much more often. Something to keep in mind.

If you tie a granny knot the resulting loops will fall parallel with your foot instead of perpendicular down the sides of your foot. To have your knot not untie itself overtime, you have to make sure that when it’s done, the knot is perpendicular to the longest axis of your foot. That way, every time you will take a step, the motion of the movement will not loosen up the knot but rather tie it a tad more

It's hard to explain with words, but when you do your knot, if it wants to be parallel to the x axis, then it's gonna secure itself. Rather than loop the second lace around a loop of the first *once*, do it twice. Be sure to have both of those second-lace loopings loose enough so you can then pull it through both. It provides much more friction and I've *never* had this come undone. Advantage over just tying a knot with the loops after is that with this you *can* just pull the ends out (make sure neither is *through* a loop!) to undo it. No picking at the knot first.
I already learned this skill a few years ago when I didn’t know how to tie a shoelace and the first video I found told me this method. I also later learned how to do the bunny ears method but I like this one more as its way faster.
I can vouch for this method. I used to be a PE teacher and I would tie kindergarteners shoes like this. I got really good at it and could tie shoes and keep my eyes on the rest of the class

I learned this when I was 12, also this is misleading since you have to tie a simple knot beforehand.
