"Hamburger" Jones Was a standup comedian he used to wear a hat just like that after he would say something he would say the phrase hamburger . That’s what the references
He voiced himself in that segment as well apparently. it's a very obscure reference. I'm thirty-something from the state's and I didn't get it when I saw it either.
@@Orizln Didn't know that, so it leaves it cut off like that or they actually showed something like an explosion? The baboon one works so much better I think. We all expected it to be the A-bomb and it being a baboon came out of nowhere lol.

2:00 the funny thing is that they just have a monkey land on him and rip up his clothing 8:43 oh wow it was actually edited. I swear the original had the kid say "but Mother" as part of the joke
from what I remember of that episode when he says hamburger with the accent it makes carter and peter laugh and they forget the horrible things that are happening.
Yeah, its a collection of short storys too and this is one of the more normal ones Theres another where a girl burns herself alive on accident, one about a boy starving because he didnt want his soup etc
The Canadian accent is actually built on by American, French, and British and Irish accents. The French were left after the Seven Years war, and after the Revolutionary war about 50,000 British and Crown American loyalists ran to Canada.
That didn't count as a laugh at the end. That was an exhalation of the build up of funny left inside you... ^ That's the story and you better print it out and stick it to your monitor so you can recite it at any time. Always a good use of 10-15 minutes, your videos. Much love bro, glad to always see there's more
"Hamburger" is a punchline of the comedian named Hamburger. After a joke, instead of saying "fuck, shit, or damn", he would end every joke by saying "hamburger."
The cutting off the thumbs is a real German folktale I was told as a kid, only it was the mom who did it, but the "scissor man", who goes around looking for kids who suck their thumbs and cuts them off.
The best/worst part about the Hiroshima joke is that it wasn't the bomb that fell on him, it was a baboon that happened to be falling at the same time.
The joke was clearly a trick joke, I hate when they cut out parts of it, even for copyright purposes. Basically it make you think it was the Little Boy nuke falling, but then the Baboon is the worst part of that guy's day.
The german bedtime-story was a legit one. It is from a children`s book from 1845 and it is still popular in Gremany. That are storys to educate children what they must not do, otherwise there are brutal consequences. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Struwwelpeter The story with the thumb-sucker is the 6th ones.
Regarding Canadian accent: They have "Nova Scotia" (New Scotland) on their. east coast and that's where the accent comes from. America has New England and the accent sounds like Peter. NOthing like the English.
10:08 Only got a smile from it what I saw. I suggest watching a movie called Real Men, it had Jim Belushi and John Ritter in it (1987 or 88 film). You might get more than a smile lol.
2:48 And the funny part is... it's true. For us Italian, saying "gay", it's like using a strong word (not even an offensive one, it's just... bah, frick if I know), so... this is the solution.
What’s the craic lad? I would definitely be down for the podcast idea, sitting around a table in a pub with the boys , few pints and some conversations about aliens and shit.
The most well know and unique accent in Canada comes from the far Atlantic provinces. They had a lot of Scottish and Irish immigrants settle there and have retained a lot of those root dialects. Then you also have the neighboring province of Quebec (French) and one of the Atlantic provinces New Brunswick (full bilingual) bringing it a little bit of French as well.
I dunno; the stereotypical "Canadian" accent seems to be more the Prairies "Minnesota nice" "Fargo" one, which is largely derived, IIRC, from the fact that Scandeweigan, Dutch, and German immigrants were the groups that took greatest advantage of the "free land" colonization offers the Canadian gov made to secure the area for "white" people at the time in question.
Bob Seger is a singer, I refer you to "against the wind". Axel Foley was Eddie Murphy's character in Beverly hills cop. That was the references in the Detroit clip.
The reason for the accent is a mix of the Irish immigrants to NewfoundLand and French over the years. If ever you listen to Great Big Sea or any NFLD band, you’ll hear a ton of Irish influence.
There's definitely a lot of Celt in some regional Canadian accents, which you might expect from a nation with a province called "Nova Scotia", or "New Scotland". MacFarlane is mixing-in a fair bit of "muppet" here, though. "Hi-ho, I'm Kermit T. Canadian Frog".
Hoy late to the party but i wanted to say something It's normal that you can hear a bit of Irish in the Canadian accent as a lot of Irishmen came here during The great Irish famine and contributed a lot to the Eastern Canadian culture. On top of that, lots of French Canadian ancestry comes from Northern France (Normandy, Anger, Bretagne) and they brought reels and fiddle music with them during the colonial time. It wasn't long before the cultures got mixed up as they shared musical similarities.
That "Canadian accent" is mainly just from Eastern Canada, specifically Newfoundland. Except for Quebec, the rest of us speak with an accent that is nearly indistinguishable from American.
