How is this recorded? Onto tape or digital medium? Is the mild saturation the typical rev2 sound (compared to rev3)? In that case I understand the rev differences. This has a raw character just like Ob-x vs obxa. Or Juno 60 vs Juno 106 (although these latter ones are both ic-based). I would like to hear more filtered pads with this synth.
It's been what, 15 years or more for soft synths? People were saying back then that getting them to match their analog counter parts was just around the corner. Well, when the hell is it going to happen?
I suggest getting an altura Pro-5 virtual synth. From what I have seen on-line the Pro-5 actual synth is hard to maintain and the parts for them cost more. Virtual Synths are catching up to their hardware brothers by leaps and bounds.
Thats big talk cowboy! Have you used a p5 for comparison? My iPhone can do more than a p5, it just sounds bad is all... Ive got a p5 and a p08. So what if the new kit can do more tricks? I'll take the p5 over any poly, even Jupiter 8 and yes I've owned and directly compared both. Sheeet, the arturia p5 sounds good until you fire up the real thing. Ears don't lie.
grafiek No worries- then you know what you're talking about. I find my p08 to be thin and distorts too easily. p6 probably fixed that. clever dave smith...testing his early versions on unsuspecting fools such as myself :-)
I have both and there is a difference in tone. The P5 has just a bit more punch, purity and power. And it is a beautiful instrument that is fun to play and tweak. But the P6 is a very well designed synth that will satisfy the majority of people and musical applications. The additional features, on board effects and rock solid reliability give it an edge in terms of practicality.
Best and most powerful sounding poly synth ever made.
IMO this is the most organic synth ever made.
this guy was doing all the synth and back to the 80s stuff before it came back
2013 was early on youtube for this!
@Patrick Cowley You're back alive!!
Complimenti x aver ricordato il numero 1 dell'elettronica 70/80 saudade!!
Beautiful ! Patrick had the Prophet V and the Pro One. He made Menergy with both.
Finally got my hands on one today, couldn't be happier.
Great hommage to the sounds of Cowley and this great big synth!

cool - how do you feel the Creamware Pro 12 compares to the real thing here?
It's been what, 15 years or more for soft synths? People were saying back then that getting them to match their analog counter parts was just around the corner. Well, when the hell is it going to happen?
It's good now, RUclipsr of the past

This a legit question, can you get these sounds on a Prophet Rev 2?
My Prophet 6 can now do even more....why waste money on a P5 at a ridiculous price...good work though

Absolutely I have used both and I love the P6
I still think the Cowley sound recreation is good.

The rev 4 doesn't sound this sweet.
is it not made with the exact same components?
