As a mechanical master you have the ability to have some item drops when gathering, to enable a higher drop rate for class items or gears what I do is to push the unit count higher for an unrealistic yield. At one stage of the game I farmed 20 weekly. 🙋♂🙋♂
For the heroes with gathering buffs it may impact the buff as the war or def improves. For other heroes it impacts the load because it changes march size.
I prefer the gathering charge to the march speed, it allows you to use fewer units and is less restrictive for the odinium.
