Grease pencil & perfectionism (digital art tools)

with grease pencil, every stroke can be selected and modified using a variety of tools - I compare it to having a separate layer for each stroke. Is that TOO much control??? Here is my personal conclusion.

I go through the same thing, lately I've even been feeling strangely defensive toward my errors, to the point of seeking out ways I can leave myself opportunities to preserve mistakes in my process.

do you use it this to draw in 2d only? or is this drawing the first stage before you turn it in 3d?
