Samantha, your happiness and excitement for each of your projects is so wonderful. I think it was called Bluebell?.....that is so gorgeous! The colours in it are perfect. I have not done a full coverage piece but have been looking at them with great interest. I have seen so many beautiful patterns. As I mentioned over on IG, I think your hair looks really good. It suits you. I look forward to your next episode and seeing the progress you make.

For your stocking and centering your name, after charting out your name on grid paper, find the center then find the center of the stocking space and that’s where you start.

I remember when I stopped coloring my hair and it was long enough to get the dyed the part cut off, it was a fabulous feeling! Though mine didn’t look as cute as yours does now! I also totally get growing it out again ass that’s what I did. Enjoy this phase! As always, your enthusiasm so inspires me. I can’t wait for the wip parade, I want to see Lily Maiden. I planned to start her for my birthday back in May, but got hung up on whether or not to switch the fabric. Like you, I have a hard time imagining what it will look like on something different.

Samantha, so many beautiful stitches. Dinensions stockings... some tips, chart your name out then start the middle of your name on the center marking on the name line. Then your name will be centered. Then I recommend finishing the stocking with full lining and back fabric with a ribbon hanger, not the felt and yarn included in the kit. I use a fusible interfacing on the back of the aida cloth before constructing the stocking. I have made Santa Snowglobe for my granddaughter and is currently working on Holiday Glow for my grandson. They are beautiful when finished but definitly a challenge to work on like full coverage.
    Happy stitching, Lea

Beautiful stitching! I have a suggestion for your name on the stocking, instead of starting at the beginning, start in the middle of your name and work out since you already started in middle. You could also grid your name for peace of mind on a copy of the pattern. Your hair looks cute and fun for summer!

I snack while I stitch, too...right now I'm stuck on these yummy soft "🦄 poop" 🤪 marshmallow swirls I found at the dollar store, but I also love fruit snacks and mini peppermint patties... I keep a pair of those washable, reusable chopsticks 🥢 on hand so I can grab my goodies with em so I don't get stitcky hands 😂
I do the same thing w my finishes; I always have these grand pictures in my head of how I'm going to finish them, or I can see it hanging in a certain place on my wall, but when it comes to actually DOING the finishing, or the framing, I tend to just put it in my storage box and move onto the next one. I LOVE the way finishes look, and I want to display them w pride, but i think I enjoy the stitching part WAY more than the ffoing lolol

I don't know where you have been because I just found your floss tube and loved every minute of watching. You are so organized, use a variety of stitching, work projects with friends. You do a great job showing your projects. First you show the project picture as you talk about it; then you show the project and talk about it and as you point out different things in the project you have the neatest way of putting the picture of the project next to the stitching and show exactly what you are talking about. This is the Greatest because you can see exactly what you are describing. I can't wait to tune in to you next time. But in the meantime I think I will watch you earlier WHIP Parade. Thanks for a great floss tube.

I love your haircut!! Someone probably already said something like this, but when I’m putting a name on something, I usually chart it out on graph paper so I know how much space it’ll take up and you can count and find the middle of the name to align it to the middle of the pattern! It’s a little tedious, but I agree I can’t imagine having it be off center 😂
Thanks for sharing all of your work!!

I love Tiny Modernist too. I have Secret Garden, Sweet Summer, Christmas Calendar, Autumn Band Sampler, & Winter Band Sampler. I would love to get more of her charts but her charts are long and I have to finish the ones I already started. I have never worked on a Joan Elliott chart either but yours looks so beautiful. I may check her charts out too. Thanks for showing us. I can not believe that you found it at a thrift shop. You are so lucky to find that. Your stitching is so beautiful. I did start Summer Quaker and I am doing it on 20-count Ivory aida with 2 over 1 and so far I am loving it. It is my first Quaker. Happy Stitching.

Hi Samantha - I do love that fall Lila's Studio. I think your hair looks great. It is good to get a cut periodically to keep your hair healthy. You can start your name in the middle - the space between A and N is the middle so figure out how many spaces to leave between letters and start a bit on the letter on either side to get going and start stitching outward from there. It will feel weird at first but it won't take long to get accustomed to it. I can always show you at the September meeting. Have a good time with Arica and her family.

First off….love the shorter haircut! Second, I am also stitching the Once Upon a Fairytale HAED. I chose to do it on a 28 count gridded fabric and I’m doing 2 over 1 tent stitch. I find the coverage great and it goes just a bit faster than full cross. I figure I may have a chance of finishing it that way! 😅I usually stitch in 10x20 blocks on a diagonal, to avoid seeing lines once stitched. I also park…there’s lots of ways to do it! And I use Markup RXP. Pattern keeper would work too. With such an intense stitch I find it really helps!

    Samantha
Chart your name with their alphabet on graph paper with the same amount of stitches on the top of the stocking. For instance if there is 30 stitches just use those stitches. If it is to small or to big you might have to find a new alphabet. Not sure if this helps.

First, ❤ your hair! It’s beautiful, but then so are you 😊 I have the Summer Quaker, but now you have piqued my interest for the August Quaker. More than likely I’ll kit it now 😂. A tip for stitching on black (or darker fabric) is put something white on your lap under your piece. It’ll help you see the holes. Of course, still use lighting, but it’ll help. In fact, there are some light fabrics that can be tricky, therefore put something black on your lap instead.

Hello Samantha! Your hair looks great, it's refreshing to make a change now and then but needs courage, so grats about that😜
Got the pattern, got the fabric, just waiting for the missing floss now and I'm very excited for the Autumn SAL 🍂🍁
You had so much progress on Sarah's project, I think she will be very happy with it !!!💐 Also Arica's "kringles" looks amazing, I just added it on my really, really long "must stitch" list 😛
You are very lucky that Sarah gifted you that amazing HAED! Aimee Stewart's designs are amazing. That was one of the candidates when I was trying to decide which HAED to start! I love it! I think you'll have a lot of fun stitching it, just enjoy the process and don't think about the finishing line😄
Your Christmas projects are all so beautiful! "Dancer" looks stunning and you also started Joan Elliot's Santa's Gifts, really looking forward to seeing this one stitched up 🎅
I know what you mean about choosing a different fabric than the one the pattern suggest, I have the same problem! I am very excited using different fabrics but I am always worried that it might not be the right colour or the right count, so I prefer it when the pattern suggests it and I just follow the suggestion! I like a lot the one you chose for your Lavender and Lace project and I think it will look fantastic but I like even more the fabric you are going to stitch your mermaid on, looking forward to seeing how that one will look 🧜‍♀
Enjoy your summer and your stitching, looking forward to seeing you again 😍🪆🪡

I'm stitching Once Upon a Fairytale! If you want to stitch it with someone, I will. I've only got 1 page stitched up so far, but I have the supersized max color.
