In case anybody here doesn’t know, Rita wrote a song that Clapton used as the outro to Layla. She never got credit and I wanted everyone here to here it: God bless you Rita ruclips.net/video/9IJPLcwHOes/видео.htmlsi=q2aYjOsZMyzlWecV
In 1970 Leon Russell - the “Tulsa Sound” man troubadour released his self-titled debut solo album, which included songs “Delta Lady” and “A Song for You”, both written for versatile vocalist Rita Coolidge. They were involved and dated, (I believe) on the Mad Dogs and Englishmen tour with Joe Cocker. I love Rita’s voice, she’s so pretty too, wish she and Kris K. could have stayed together; they made a beautiful couple.
I’ve heard of Rita Coolidge but I think she’s mostly in the country genre, which I rarely listen to. Not that I’m a vocal coach but I think she has a really nice vibrato and she stays well within in her key. But she has a really nice voice as well. As a side note I think it Chris Christopherson on the piano behind her. I might have to look up her BIO now today when I get the chance.

Sure looks like it. Crazy thing is I’ve never seen him playing the piano before. I’ve only seen him playing the guitar. What a lot of people don’t realize was Kris was a prolific song writer. Made a great living writing some huge hits.
I can honestly say if it ain't Kris Kristofferson I don't know who it is that's just like Elvis Presley people thought that he couldn't play a but he could he wouldn't he wouldn't play often but he would play a piano more than he would play a piano more than and if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes you know there's people who can sell a lot about an it would be rumor but since Elvis never really wrote a song of his own and I know Kris Kristofferson has written several and that's why I think it's him when he was real young or just not getting not getting into it but been in it for a while cuz you just don't start playing pianos and guitars overnight like that I just the I just don't happen cuz you got a phrase in to go into the song and all and everybody that counts cuz I know there's been a couple I have raised a couple of issues up here now I'm trying to answer everybody's question to the best of my ability so I don't know but I know I listen to it this time just starting to make another comment on it I do know Kris Kristofferson didn't write this song cuz she said who did it right the the beginning of it
Her voice is like a lullaby
Rita's voice is beautiful; a warm cloud. I love this performance. The band is great. I love the use of the organ and Kris was perfect harmony.
Such an angelic voice. Beautiful
Oh Wow ! Rita Coolidge and Kris Kristofferson - what did I do to deserve this absolute Gem ? Love it.
I had their 8 track “Full Moon” back in the mid 70’s. I love Rita’s voice, she is a beautiful Native American woman.
That's one of her prettiest songs. Nice performance.😊💜
These performances are just treasures.
Beautiful 🌹
Happy Sunday 🕊 Thank you for sharing! 💖
Loved it 😍!
Thanks! More Rita, please.
She was always so pretty we loved her hair
Loved Rita since the 70s. Her voice makes Kris sound good. She was the only singer who looked like us (meaning her brown skin).
I remember her
Wow so beautiful!

He was so smitten with her. Rather sad that their love story ended.
Lovely song.

Rank Rita up there with Anne Murray and Karen Carpenter. A beautiful soothing voice.
Rita says it was written by Paul Williams. I can hear The Carpenters doing a version of this. It suits Karen's voice perfectly.

@@darrenrunning5415 Rita's the best!
😍
Subtlety……there’s barely a singer in pop that has any. Rita and Karen Carpenter, 2 of my all time artists!
Looks like Jim Keltner on Drums.
He's got the glasses.
That's Chris Kristofferson on piano!
Kris Kristopherson on piano.
Is that Kris Kristofferson singing with her

They were married. Vegas odds are, he wrote the song
@@curtisphilumalee1447Oh yea, don’t we know it! Wonder how many songs he’s written and made famous for others?
