I taught at the University of Wyoming for several years and considered a couple of times doing Longs Peak, via Keyhole. I have to say, watching this video, I'm glad - here at 67 years of age - the the 37 year old me said, "Hell no." :) I know that videos can exaggerate the reality (in both directions, actually,) but I'm pretty happy having climbed Medicine Bow Peak a few times and Gannet Peak once. Nice video. I assume you camped at the base and started before the sun came up? The advice was always to be at the top before the afternoon thunderstorms set in.
@@davidmalone9022 Thanks, I’ve heard great things about Medicine Bow Peak and Gannett is a monster! Didn’t camp for this one but started at 3am, partly for the thunderstorm risk and partly for parking lot availability
Wow very beautiful peace and calm on top 🎩

That's a good video insight. Thanks for sharing!
@@cribbsprojects I appreciate that!
Nice! How cold was it on the hike and at the summit?
@@emitsienim Thanks! Real feel was around 20F at the summit, it warmed up considerably once the sun came out
@@weekendvagrant that's brutally cold lol. Really impressive tho, how long was the hike and elevation?
@@emitsienim Clocked in a little over 15 miles, summit is at 14,259’
Looks lonely on the top!
@@michaelbabick4612 A rare morning of solitude! I guess a 3am start in October has that effect
