The Problem With Mental Healthcare

This is not a comment on any one industry - there are good and bad professionals in every industry shown, and I'm friends with a lot of the best ones. This is a comment on how unaligned the industries are, which is what compelled me to seek out a PhD program in research Neuropsychology. However, there is a limit to how much change can happen until we stop letting capitalism steer the ship.

Psychiatrist: I can't diagnose you because you use a certain plant
Me: My Mom and my grandma have have shaky wiggle syndrome, can I please have pills?
Psychiatrist: no
A FEW WEEKS LATER:
Psychiatrist #2: so.. you have shaky wiggle syndrome
Me: are you sure, the last guy said he couldn't diagnose it because of my cannabis use?
Psychiatrist #2: I specialize in shaky wiggle syndrome. I also *have* shaky wiggle syndrome.
Me: oh. Can i have pills please?
Dr: just tell me what pharmacy.
LATER:
ME: OMG, these pills are ADORABLE! I LOVE THEM.
