I went to see speed the day it opened in Chicago. Everyone stood up in applause at the the ending in the theater. People were so pumped up too walking out, still with adrenaline from this movie, like we all had just seen the best action movie ever. That summer of 1994 was so great, I was still a happy person, looking ahead to the future. I was 20 going on 21 that summer, everyone I ever loved was alive and well on earth. Society was even different than in 2023. I miss those days like I miss having family. Now days all I do is reminisce and reflect on old times everyday on RUclips. It's the closest thing to a time machine for me and keeps the sadness manageable by keeping me focused on better times.
Keanu's whole energy just changed when Sandy came up to him and they held hands. So beautiful to watch! Both so young and natural! What a chemistry. No wonder they both had crushes on each other!
