how do you do that fast tremolo picking? my pick simply gets stuck in between the strings

Some picks are better than others. try using a dunlop pick. A lot of guitarists use it

I'm not sure what setting is used on the actual recording, but I'm sure 2 octaves up still sounds fine if you play one octave lower on the fretboard!
