Hi, I have owned one for about 3 years now, and for the money this is a beautiful, well made, excellent sounding guitar. The finish, quality of inlays etc is as good as the Martin specs its built from, and Grover Tuners at this price stay in tune like no other guitar I own. Highly recommended.
Hello , I honestly fell in love with this style of guitars , and this color in particular . I love the martin 00 17 , but its way out of my price range for a guitar . If i buy this , might it resonate at least somewhat similar ? I know it might be a difficult question. Or does it feel similar with a martin guitar ?
Thank you for your question, but yes it is a little hard to say. Every guitar is an individual so even within the same model there will be a range of tones. That being said, having played well over a hundred of these Sigmas, and quite a few Martins over the years, I don’t think you would be disappointed with the tone of the Sigmas in comparison. That being said, the Mahogany top of the sigma will be a fair bit different than the Sitka spruce top of the Martin 17 series models. So if it’s that particular tone you are after, then something with more similar woods may make more sense. But I honestly love my Sigma, have played it for many years and can’t imagine selling it despite the fact that until 2 weeks ago it’s been the least expensive guitar I own for the last 10 years (I just bought a Breedlove travel guitar that’s a few hundred less) Obviously it’s not for everyone, but if you like the looks and what you can tell of the tone from the video, I think you’ll love it. I hope that helps. Let me know if you’re interested in ordering one and I can check my stock.
@@LeducsOwnMusicShop That is a good answer , thank you very much . Well I sure want to buy one in the future . It is a very good looking guitar and also the sound is really beautiful . I think in my mind I had the 1937 mahagony 00-17 . It was i think a somewhat budget martin at that time . Still thank you for taking the time to respond to my question .
Hey man, thanks for the video. I was wondering if you had any tips on what guitar would be best suitable for a singer-songwriter scenario, I mainly play rhythm and slower melodic songs. I’m looking at This guitar, as well as their Dr-28, which do you think would be more suitable to accompany vocals? PS: I’ve got the sigma jumbo and it can get a bit overbearing at times. Thanks again
Johnny Rose As a singer-songwriter myself with a similar playing style to what you describe, I would certainly recommend this one or the 000MC-15E+ with the electronics. I own one myself and it’s been my primary performance guitar for the past 5 years or so. Here’s a link to the video in I just made for that one: ruclips.net/video/XYGE8DvY7-I/видео.html There are certainly other nice guitars out there. But for this budget range, I don’t think there are any that suit that style and offer the same quality and features at that low budget. If you decide to go that route, let me know, we have lots in stock. Hope that helps. Thanks James
Wong Wei-I They are both very nice sounding, but personally I prefer the Sigma. A nicer feel, better hardware, and thus far with a few hundred of them sold, we have yet to do a warranty repair on them, so durability wise I trust it much more. Either one would be a good choice though.
Wong Wei-I no problem. I’ve been playing a Sigma 000MC-15E as my main gigging guitar for the past two years. Absolutely love it. Not sure where you live, but we are offering free shipping anywhere in Canada all October, if that’s something you’re interested in.
I am about average size, and I definitely prefer this one. The DM-15 is still a great guitar, but I find I get uncomfortable playing it, especially when sitting in certain places (sofa, bed, chairs with arms, on the ground, etc). You do lose a little volume, and some of the Bass tone, but overall I find it more pleasant to listen to for my tastes, and definitely more comfortable. This is why I sell the 000M model about 10 times more often than the DM model.
James Turner Thanks a lot for your reply! Would you say the 000M-15 would be a good, versatile guitar to stick by for a few years? This would be my first guitar and I probably won't be buying a second one in a while. I would love to play some oldies music and also modern pop rock. I'm wondering if I should be starting out on a certain size? I have been told to get a dreadnought so that's the main reason that I'm torn between the 000M-15 and DM-15...especially when they are the same price in my region.
***** (sorry for jumping between accounts btw), but I would still say the 000M-15 would be the one, unless you care a lot about the volume and how much bass you have in the tone. For me personally, I dislike having so much bass for most of the music I play, which is mostly the modern rock, alternative, folk, and things like that. Personal taste is a funny thing though, so the best advise I can give is to try out both, and see which one you prefer the sound of. As for the long term useability of either of them, they will last your whole life if you take good care of them. They are very well built, and they will do everything you need it to, as long as you own it. The only reasons you may feel the need to upgrade later would be to get electronics, or a different tone. As far as I'm concerned, the sound and playability of these will compete with any guitar on the market. (though again personal taste plays a huge role in what you like). I have about 250 acoustic guitars in my store, and though there are many that are nicer in many ways, I think I would be just as happy owning this as my own personal guitar as anything else, even when compared to multi-thousand dollar instruments. I think it's ideal to own multiple guitars with a variety of different tones for different purposes, but I feel that this one covers a lot of the middle ground, being very usable in most styles. Ultimately I think you'll be happy with either one though. But I hope this helps.
TurnerGuitarStudio1 Hi, I have actually tested the 000M-15 but I was quite overwhelmed by the choices and the buzz of good business in the shop. Unfortunately, I can't get my hands on a DM-15 to try it out but can buy from a seller who orders from the distributor once a customer confirms their interest in purchasing ( so no testing). I'll be going back to try out the 000M-15 and take my time this time around and perhaps try out a dreadnought of another brand and see which size I'd prefer. After more research and reviewing again what you have said, I might just get the 000M-15! I really appreciate your help! And you're right, I believe both models are very well-built and sound great so there weren't be a bad ending for me with either one :D
+Shoe Gazer Not much. There will always be some differences, even between two guitars of the same model. So the tonal difference is almost insignificant since two 000M-15 might sound more different to each other than they do to the 00M-15.
Diego León Almeida In regards to the sound, they are more or less the same. I’ve played them both back to back, and I don’t think the difference in sound is much more significant than the difference between two of the same models of sigma or any brand really. Feel wise, I think the Sigma has a bit of an advantage, and the hardware is nicer on he Sigma. The L450 actually only has a solid top and back, the sides are still a laminate. Not that I think that will make a huge difference either way. But I find that for the extra costs of the L450 due to its solid back, that it ends up being less value for money than the sigmas. Definitely worth trying out both if you are able to. But I own a Sigma and use it for the majority of my live performing despite it being my least expensive guitar by a huge margin. I just can’t find any reason not to use it, cause it plays great, sounds awesome, the pickup does exactly what I need (I have the 000MC-15E), the durability is outstanding, and even if I accidentally break it, it cost me less than half of my second least expensive guitar. Can’t recommend them highly enough.

I own one of these and it's the best acoustic guitar I have ever owned. That good playin' too mate.
I want thissss

Hi, would you recommend this or the DM 15 for a guy of average size learning guitar?
I am about average size, and I definitely prefer this one.
