Fun fact: There were only two corridor sets that we kept redressing and recycling to make it feel like the ATROPA was a much larger vessel. We definitely had to get creative with it, and we even did a few set extension shots to trick the eye. Those same corridor sets have been used in countless sci-fi productions large and small, including an episode of Firefly.

I liked the first one but I wasn't expecting this to turn into a great series like this. I hope they keep pumping out the episodes like this. It's been nearly every day for the past few days.
Ahh, thanks. I see the pinned message by DUST. it says the final episode will be released tomorrow at 9am PST. Great show...I'm glad they did it the way they did. The first "episode" wasn't exactly an episode, it was just part of the story. But it must have generated interest which probably allowed them to justify putting the resources into telling the rest of the story well as opposed to just a cheap finish so to speak. At first I was like, "are you sure? How do you know that?" Then I'm read it...I'm like "duh...sorry bro" LOL
This series was meant for dust. I've tried to imagine it on Netflix or cinema but it's perfect in small bites, being left in anticipation each time. Well done.
1:46 "Why would this time be any different?" Well technically every time is at least slightly different, because each instance of going through the loop has one more escape pod in the ring than the last (or two more if the second escape pod also ends up in the ring). The earlier iterations would have seen no ring there or a very thin one. What she really means is why would it be different in the stuff that she cares about (like surviving and escaping the time loop this time). But if it can be different at all, then one set of different conditions can lead to a different event happening thus causing another different event to happen and so on. And this domino effect could in principle reach any part of the situation, including the macro-level stuff that you care about. For example, if they adopt strategies to pass on information about what happened last time, the next iteration will be different in that the crew will have this information, and could possibly adopt better strategies for survival. Another option would be to go into the escape pod for oxygen but keep it attached to the ship, and then go back into the ship after the collision to meet the next Atropia crew and explain it to them. I would normally also say that if they don't get out, eventually there would have to be enough pods collapse into a black hole or stretch out to where the Atropia is and collide with it to change its course or something. But it looks like they are sort of ignoring normal physics for plot purposes anyway.
I knew each time was slightly different by seeing Cole in the second ship looking in an unbroken bathroom mirror (with his spacesuit on) and later, back in the first ship again... he broke that mirror.
@@JAG77productions Why not? The Atropa made contact with itself. The escape pod made contact with many prior versions of itself. And Jacob met his own corpse. So what is the difference between that and a live human meeting him or her self alive?

Hmm, have trouble calling Sander's behavior believable. Humans are not THAT fragile! In fact our mind are even fairly good at coping with extreme situations short term. It's more like the long term when we go crazy.
everthing is brriliant, the way the actors don't need dialogue but still there are some frustrating moments where I wish there was a better actor or director or a bigger budget or something, but all in all I'm also quite amazed and yeah, way better than prometheous
@@MiTheMer Yeah, the way Sanders reacted on first seeing his future corpse made little sense. Like, he immediately makes the connection that the corpse is *him* somehow, not a close or twin or lookalike. But then, at the same time, immediately blames the detective and his crewmates ("What did you do?!") despite the current circumstances and a complete lack of evidence that anyone murdered the double. It doesn't make sense, it's the weakest part of the story, and it's unnecessary. Later on, they explain how using the stims to get Sanders up again could cause mental disturbance, a disassociative state. If Sanders just had a simple panic attack on seeing the body and realizing it's him, we'd already believe he could go nuts from the stims. making him look crazy/violent *before* the stims just makes us wonder why he was ever assigned to a starship. Oof. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. The rest of this story is great, it's just sad that this bit of "Walking Dead" style of 'idiot ball' drama was mixed in. Writers: drama is like any spice - you have to determine the right amount, and consider how it affects the other flavors in the dish.
@thedragonixxx people act certainly act crazy when they are scared, even someone who is trained can crack when placed in stressful, data deficient situations with their life in jeopardy. So his behaviour established him firmly in the 'Lt Gorman' camp for me (as befits a homage to 70s 80s sci fi). By the way - humans covers more than 8 billion people, not sure how many you have met, to form such a strong opinion, but congratulations on the breadth of your generalisation.
Made sense to me - he reacted badly - didn't know quite was going on but it certainly looks like the detective shot his double. It's certainly *not* the weakest part of the story, if your talking about believability, as the physics of two ofthe same thing co-existing in the same time frame is way harder to believe than a human with all his flaws and weaknesses might react badly and irrationally on seeing his double dead at the hands of a strange and unwelcome interloper. But sure if you find it hard to believe, then you find it hard to believe, I can sympathise, but please - go flavour your own sci fi, don't mess with stuff this good, you'll spoil it for most of us who really liked it.

CHEERS to getting 🗣✨Michael Ironside✨ LOVE HIM, LOVE the show👍👍
Man, this time I've looked to the description: that's a LOT of people doing this great job!
This series made me subscribe. It's superior to most of what Hollywood is putting out now.
Wow!..wow!..wow! This is amazing. This year has been a great year for hard sci-fi. First, Dune then ATROPA.
Episode 6 is probably the most powerful one of all. OMG Moira relax. -- Eli Sasich, you and your team should've considered making this a full feature for the movie theater. Atropa is authentic. I know those movie studio exes can screw stuff up so you guys probably just did the right thing anyway. Love it the way it is.
The start felt like Dead Space, aboard the Ishimura ... best SciFi horror game ever !
I discovered Dust about a year ago after finally giving in to the idea of watching short films. I didn't see the point of them before that. But of course, I was wrong. This channel has such amazing content. I would be missing out on such a great series right now if I hadn't subscribed. Atropa has kept me hooked right through. I love short films now. And it would be great to see more mini series like this too.
YOU GUY'S ARE THE BALLS! I'm glued! If I had the money I would finance this!
Just not knowing what you thought you knew might happen next because its already happened is making my mind fizz in a wonderful way. Thank you!
Talk about a cliffhanger! Like you needed one of those to get me back for another episode :o)
I know. They've managed to successfully end each episode with a cliffhanger!
OMG PAUL haha great pfp man!
Ohhhhhhh Damnnnnnnnnnn What a cliff hanger!!!!! Great series so far!!!
congratulations to the team for making ATROPA. Absolutely fine stuff ! Thanks a lot .
This has been the best hour of entertainment I've seen in a long time.
09:26 when the guy looks up, that's when you know this is great casting. doing a terrific job here.
This is legit the best series that I have seen so far. I am so intrigued by the genius of this show.
Eli Sasich, you legend, Luv your work! Cheers Dust.
Every cliffhanger has been super! And viewers are not made to wait long for the next one. Love all of this!
Another top of the line video
Found this by accident and am now totally hooked. Brilliant piece of work. Thank you.
"Don't panic YET." What a good captain!
Just unreal!! I can't wait till the next episode. The production, the story, and the acting is all topnotch!!
would be great to see more mini series like this too.
Nada que envidiarle, a las mejores series de ciencia ficción de Netflix¡¡¡
The CGI is amazing, they almost look like real people....almost.
PLEASE MAKE THIS AN ACTUAL SHOW, I would watch this every day of the week. We NEED a good space, Sci-fi blade runner esque style show on TV.
This is an amazing series. The actors, the sets, the CG, all of it is just fantastic.
I love these time loop stories! You just KNOW what's going to happen but you're looking for that one tiny thing that will get them out of the time loop. I'll probably watch this series over and over ... and over ... and over ...
