I agree 💯 but the Mouse will only spend money on things that it feels will add value. This thing will still be super popular and busy w/ no AAs so the mouse would find it very hard to substantiate that cost. Once again DW falls flat on its face compared to DL.

I feel like if there is an animatronic in the queue or preshows and that breaks down it kinda ruins the immersion as well. Look at the Hondo animatronic at Smugglers Run when it breaks down they just cover him or replace it with screens.

Nice! The main pre-show scene/transport effect is the same one they used on the "Star Trek: The Experience" ride in Las Vegas (1998-2008). Just like here, you were in a room on a tour, when things suddenly went dark for a second. allowing the walls to rapidly lift into the ceiling. When the lights came back on, presto! you had been beamed to the Enterprise. Considering its use here, I guess that is a sort of homage to the Trek ride on the part of the Imagineers.

Practical effect nerd here, the generator disappearance is neat, here's how it's done.
It's of course half a generator with a mirror in order to allow it to be 'floating'. There are one way mirrors around it. When the lights go out the generator moves down revealing a regular mirror with nothing. That or it rotates, but this seems the most probable.

Looking forward to it.

This looks like a great ride from the queue to the ride itself. My worry for Disney imagineering involves the lack of innovation and reliance on IP. Does anyone know the last original park ride they created in WDW? It seemed back in the day you'd have these great concepts like Pirates, Jungle Cruise, and Haunted Mansion -- these rides were such great concepts that they turned into movies.
Now it's the opposite. They just take a movie and plop it down as a ride. (Tron, Frozen, Guardians, Avatar) They can be good rides, but am I alone in wanting some original attractions like Spaceship Earth again?

I totally agree. I find myself looking at old time Disneyland and Disney World rides and all I can think of is, man, I so wish I can do that. I think Disney is changing for the new fan base, the old, traditional fans are being pushed aside, we don’t have much value to them. It’s all business and greed. The best Disney day for me is to simply walk and be in awe of the architecture and yes, get on some rides, the traditional Disney ones. I feel old even thinking this way, kinda out of touch, but it’s my honest take.

@@ifamilymoments1965 I've been doing that too! Watching videos when WDW, DL and other parks originally opened to see rides and attention to detail in the parks that isn't there anymore in the parks. The storytelling, attention to detail, new ride concepts/vehicles, classic ride experiences that are timeless, and creativity in immersion of the riders. Now it's majority of the new rides are all screen based rides imitating of Six Flags and HP World Gringotts rides. No creativity, immersion or making new ride concepts.

The down time issue concerns me. If it was due to a preshow problem then the should have an alternative solution to bypass the room. I’ve been told by a CM working there that the inside queue can only hold about an hour’s worth of guests. So I expect normal outdoor queues to wrap around that whole side of Epcot.

My significant other felt queasy and dizzy afterwards, and refused to get back on. Despite its smoothness, it is intense!! But what a blast! I hear what you say about "why is this in EPCOT?" yet we can see they needed something desperately for an adrenaline rush in the park - which is sorely lacking. THIS is going to be the toughest virtual ticket in town to get, and now makes Rise of the Resistance #2. I'm not a huge Marvel fan, so pretty much all of that is for show. This is also far more intricate than Rock "n" Roller coaster, which now seems dated. Finally, there were no issues with the pre-shows or anything during our ride time!

Its possible it drags people away from all the other parks. While I agree with Brayden its not the right park for it, Epcot sort of needed a crowd draw like this. When they finish the center area, Moana, etc., Epcot will be hopping again!

Of all the Disney RUclipsrs I trust your opinion more than ANY of the others. They all seem to cave in, especially with all the perks like hotel visits, cruises, etc. You do not seem available to be wined and dined by Disney and that is why I watch every one of your videos as soon as they are available. Keep up the great work!

Great review, this was really well done and balanced. While this ride is unfortunately not one I can do anymore it was good to get that heads up. Do agree with you that it should not have been built in Epcot and completly does not fit with the park. Also agree the throw back stuff in the preshow looked bad, and REALLY forced.

Brayden you are the best!!! Thanks for covering this! As always, very professional, very objective and right on point! I know you are a true Disney fan and I know you practice and preach Walt’s vision and principles. I so agree with your views regarding Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind and Epcot! I’m still a big fan of Walt’s Epcot and, of course, the Horizons Pavilion, so when I saw you entered the building, it gave me a instant flashback of Horizon’s entrance! It shock and bothered me! Still can’t figure out this administration! It’s a huge mess! Let’s see what happens in the upcoming Quarterly Report! Keep up the great work!

For your information sir. They’re are still showing profits. I don’t know what you people think is going to happen to Disney. Nothing! Guest are still going to come from all over the world. They are still going to make there money, that’s why they raised the prices. Parks are still busy, people are still buying expensive merchandise they don’t need. I love when I hear people saying, “Well Disney has lost a loyal customer and pass holder” 😂 So what! They don’t want to come, someone else will be there in there place. I talk to guest all the time when I’m in the parks and they can’t wait to become a pass holder when the start selling them again, soooo….. I mean 😏

For those who haven’t tried this ride yet…
I get motion sickness when I go sideways and backwards, this definitely made me feel bad afterwards. It ended my evening at Epcot. There was enough guy sat alongside me who appeared in a fair amount of strain, rubbing his head and taking deep breaths.
In comparison, I’m fine on Tron, iffy on Everest, fine on Space and Thunder Mountain. Rockin Rollercoaster is probably my limit of being ok. Indiana Jones is also fine for me.

May 10 was definitely the best day of my life!!!! I've never been invited to a Passholder Preview in my life so this was a very huge moment for me. I personally think that Cosmic Rewind definitely exceeds on so many levels. For Epcot's first official rollercoaster it's definitely thrilling.
If you were confused on the story I think I can try to explain it the best I can. And of course SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
So Xandar has built a pavilion at Epcot so they can display their culture to us Terrans and commemorate the Guardians following the events of Vol.1. Now I think the deal with Quill reference the Epcot classics is to appeal to the og fans but also give the joke to him since he hasn't been back on Earth since his childhood so he still thinks we're in the 80s.
Now the tour culminates with the Xandarians demonstrating the Cosmic Generator but a Celestial: Eson (E-SAWN) The Seacher who also appears in the first movie steals the generator and sends Earth back to the dawn of time. So the Guardians will enlist us to go back in time with them to save the galaxy and you pretty much know what happens after that.
Also to clarify the confusion on many things, like why Groot is an adult here and MAJOR SPOILERS for Multiverse of Madness.

    .
    .

This is not the main MCU 616 timeline as you were thinking. Cosmic Rewind is actually set within the Avengers Campus' timeline within the MCU like with Mission Breakout at Disneyland.

I had the pleasure of being able to go twice yesterday, there were no technical issues both times and the line moved pretty smoothly, especially my second time around. I probably only waited 10 minutes before I made it to the pre show, and the line was filled up before the exhibit room. I tried my best to go into this ride as blind as poss and while the first section of the queue gave off odd Ikea vibes to me after the teleportation scene it was all uphill from there. The first time the flashing lights gave me a bit of a headache and were a bit disorienting, but all in all it was pretty great because I was in the back corner of the room facing away from the wall that was going to lift away, and so I turned around and the generator was right in front of me. It looked REALLY good in my opinion! I was in a state of shock by the time we went on to the loading area. The lap bar on the seat was very secure for me which I really liked and it allowed me to feel safe putting my hands in the air for a majority of the ride, sometimes the Gs made it hard to keep them up though. To be, the ride was absolutely AMAZING!! I felt like I hadn’t fully processed everything by the time I got off but in the best way possible, my jaw was dropped the whole ride. I really couldn’t pay attention at all to the plot the first time because of the pure awe I was in so I’m glad I got to do it a second time, and really the plot was my only complaint, a VERY small one though. The second time I waved to the people in the window and danced the whole ride, the music really makes the whole experience even more fun. I can safety say this has to be my new favorite attraction at Disney! I got a bit of a headache but it was just so unimaginably thrilling and satisfying how the carts moved and how the ride felt, I already can’t wait to go again! I highly recommend it except if you have motion sickness, I’ve heard stories of people getting sick on this ride and I would not be surprised AT ALL. I’m just waiting till someone goes on it completely wasted to hear the story that comes out of that, I couldn’t not imagine.

I do agree with a LOT of what you said. I will say this though, at least Epcot has a cohesive theme (or they are trying to have a cohesive theme at the very least) people's thoughts may vary, but having a fictionalized planet's pavilion along with all the fictional technology it brings to the world isn't too far a stretch. Like I said opinions vary but I at least like that they are trying to have a theme here. Hollywood studios, on the other hand, is just a random catch all for IP. The classic Hollywood/backstage vibe is basically gone. I'm not thrilled with the new direction of epcot but I'm happy they are trying to have a cohesive theme.

Interesting - I rode it twice yesterday, luckily no downtime and I loved the ride just like you but I didn't think it was that intense at all. Maybe the smoothness of it tricks you, but I thought it was only slightly more thrilling than say Slinky Dog Dash and that this would be a good "in between" ride for kids after Slinky but before they're ready for something like Everest. Definitely nowhere near the level of something like Velocicoaster or any truly intense coaster.

There seams to be a lot of space going on with the new restaurant and this ride so in that sense it looks like its a good place for the ride. But otherwise I guess HS would be more apropiate if they had the space for such a ride. Id also like them to paint the big blue box to better suite the theme in EPCOT. Its such a easy and inexpencive work that really would up the experience a lot. They could paint it in some sort of Xandar city collor scheme or something.
Also the universe of energy building as I recall it from the 90ties are HUGE so it would be cool if they could have some sort of real Marvel or Xandar or whatever excebition going on for those who are not into big thrilrides. Maybe even a cool themed reasturant or something? Johan.

The bizarre EPCOT of the past joke as you note displays exactly what is wrong with the hacks that call themselves imagineers. They don’t get it. Disney now is just another theme park company that relies on other people’s IP, cheap thrills and flashy cheap shiny things that rarely work. And that appeals to the less sophisticated guest that Disney is catering to. Is it Six Flags yet? Not…yet…

Great review as always Brayden. I agree with you about Guardians IN EPCOT...it really doesn't belong and feels more at home in Hollywood Studios. What I do understand is the need to have a real "E" ticket thrill attraction at EPCOT. Test Track still pulls long wait times and isn't even technically a roller coaster. People today crave these extreme thrill rides and EPCOT was lacking in that respect. Plus adding a Marvel IP to the mix is most likely a win-win for Disney.
