You are an absolute queen! That's such a great achievement! :) I totally agree with you on We Were Liars. That book was so overrated ... it did have a YA feel to it, indeed. And I also think that most people who really enjoyed it aren't even avid Shakespeare fans. ;) Richard III is easily the best out of the Henriad, however, unlike you, I actually thought that Henry VI, Part 1 was the best out of the three. I don't know why, but it was the most thrilling to me, I especially enjoyed the scene where they plucked the roses in the garden. That was so epic. :D Also Margaret and Elinor will forever be my queens! I loved them and their snarky comments so much!
I'm glad you know what I mean with If We Were Villains! And yes the rose scene was great. Honestly I'd only ever heard super negative things about 1 Henry VI, so it really exceeded my expectations! It really does have a lot of drama go down :)
Wow, I love this video! I dedicated a morning last week to reading and analysing The Tempest. By the way I talked about your channel in my new video, I'm not really sure what the booktube etiquette is because it is my first video so I thought I'd just let you know :)
The sheer quantity of your reading is astounding. I'm way too slow, way too lazy and my motivation waxes and wanes. You must be an an aspiring English academic.
Hi Alex! I miss your tag videos! I love when you talk about your reading habits and the kind of books you like to read. I hope you enjoyed your march of the mammoths of this year. If you liked The Novel: A Biography you'll love The Novel: An Alternative History: Beginnings to 1600 and The Novel: An Alternative History, 1600-1800 😍😘 continue to be a queen on this channel.
Good to know-- I will keep on the lookout for some good tags! And both those books sound must-reads for me! Thank you for the on-point recommendation! 😊
Hi ! I just wanted to say that you're my favorite booktuber on this platform and i never miss one of your videos as i have similar tastes in literature as you do, and i was wondering if you could maybe do a bookshelf tour ... ? Your readings inspire me a lot and seeing your collection would definitely too ! Hope you're doing great :)
It would be an ambitious project to tackle! I'm not quite sure how to pull it off (I film off a laptop and not a camera), but if I think of something I'd love to give it a try someday! :)
You should check-it out Harold Bloom's book on Shakespeare's plays (it's a mammonth size, definitely) and also The Shakespeare Book! Another recommendations of different books about books: A Gentle Madness by Nicholas Basbanes and My Back Pages: Reviews and Essays by Steven Moore. Hope you'll like one of these.
Awesome, I love books about books! Thanks for the recommendations! I think I own one of Bloom's books (the one about the western canon), but haven't delved into anyone of his Shakespeare stuff yet!
Loved this reading vlog! I've been meaning to get back to reading Shakespeare as it's been a few years since I last picked up a play. I also spent a lot of time reading over the long weekend... I finished Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice (4 stars), The Factory by Hiroko Oyamada (3.5 stars) and started The End of the Ocean by Maja Lunde (really enjoying).
I haven't read it since I was in high school so it's one I would like to revisit again! There's so much good Shakespeare stuff streaming online these days!
Ahh, i'm so happy! Love your reading vlogs, hope to see more in the future 😍

That's great you had a good reading weekend! I've been meaning to read Waubgeshig Rice for so long! And The Factory is on my TBR :)
Are you going to continue the William T. Vollmann series?
Yes for sure! The books are quite intense though so I'm taking my time between each volume :)
A distant mirror is a great book. I hope you'll enjoy it!
So far so good! So many wars-- ah!
Have you read Twelfth Night? National Theatre London are going to stream the play here on youtube next Thursday, the 23rd April.
I haven't read it since I was in high school so it's one I would like to revisit again! There's so much good Shakespeare stuff streaming online these days!
