My Summit has high speed wobble. I have all new axles and hubs to install because I am positive everything is worn out. I got it for my Son- In Law last summer and he decided he didn't want it. I found a great deal on a Rustler for him and he is way happy with that.
Hi after following your video I found what I think was the problem with my "wobble" and my steering arms etc were fine BUT I noticed that (my brain was not in gear !!!) I had on one wheel hubs, hex clip I had put the clip BEHIND the hex hub instead of after it - put them on the correct way and it seems to have sorted the issue. Just a pointer in case anyone else has this issue. Thanks anyway for possible future "none idiot" issues with wheel wobble!!!
Matt I see this video is old but wondering if u have ever had this problem with ur xmax kinda has me stumped was wheeling let it down sounds like something got loose now has no power to the rear tires
Lift & Laugh glad it maybe helped someone! Took me a bit to figure out the problem so I was hoping it may save someone else a little trouble. Thanks so much for watching!
Lift & Laugh honestly most of the time I order from eBay or amazon. Whichever gets it to me quickest lol. I live a little over an hour from any hobby shop or I would use them more. LiquidRC is a really fast shipper on eBay so if they have what I need I go with them for sure!
Hey my steering on my Xmaxx 8S slaps left to right when I go in reverse on pavement. Is that normal? I am really disappointed in the Xmaxx steering.. It’s so sloppy and loose. I can turn the wheels and inch left to right before the servo even engages. I have the upgraded spring, and 2085X servo.
Yeah the steering on the xmaxx is garbage imo. I can’t believe that they sell the thing the way it is honestly. I did a lot to try helping mine out and it still sort of did what you’re talking about. I also put some of the aluminum steering links in and it still didn’t help. Nothing really helped it much. Overall I like the truck but steering is an issue for sure. Not really sure what to do about it. I sold this one shortly after fixing it up but just traded for another one yesterday that needs quite a bit of work. Including new steering components so maybe I’ll try to figure something out while building this one lol. Wish I could help ya but I haven’t solved it yet either unfortunately.
@@2fmrc Yeah I bought this one used. So I am still going through it slowly, but surely. It has a rear HP spool instead of a rear diff, so it’s a live axle rear end. Front and center diff are stock. I have pretty much torn everything apart and installed new bearings. Just rebuilt the shocks tonight with new cartridges and bladders and oil. Gonna tackle the steering next and see what’s up with it. It’s just so darn sloppy it’s crazy. Overall the truck is solid and pretty clean. Center drive shaft is straight, And I have torn in to the diffs, and replaced al of the drive cups. The truck is super reliable, so at least I can say that about it. I also run belted beadlock pro-line badlands, so it makes the steering slop really show even worse. “Larger and super grippy tires”
I don't have this car but I am happy to see how people are able to help themselves and fix things. There is always something to learn, Cheers!
wow! what a positive comment.

Awesome video! Had similar problem with the steering wobble on my Xmaxx. the pins in my driveshaft was missing. fixed it now!
If its used, be wary about your differentials, front, rear and center. Also inspect your chassi towards your driveshaft from rear to front
Really good video, many thanks, I am having the same issue and my Xmaxx is only 1 month old.
