For me, this is musical elegance. It exposes the melodic inventiveness of Monteverdi.
One of baroque opera's most delicious arias arranged with great respect and played beautifully. Well done!

You can’t compare this to Au fond du temple saint, for example, as they fulfil different functions and operatic conventions were dissimilar.

I had a beautiful Bolognese dog named Rocco and we liked to listen to Monteverdi together. In June, he died in a tragic accident with a distracted driver who was making an illegal maneuver while on the phone. Pur Ti Miro was his lullaby and we loved the L'Arpeggiata version, but this is truly lovely and brought a tear to my eye. I wish I could have listened to it with him by my side.

Wonderful arrangement. Probably not written by the great man, as he didn't finish Poppaea.
In the past composers borrowed from each other freely, Handel was quite the kleptomaniac, of his own works and others. There is much conjecture on this duet, but as somebody commented, no Titian painting is pure Titian, so why do we worry if this bit of Monteverdi isn’t pure Monteverdi?
È molto più coinvolgente il motivo, rispetto alla storia riassunta nel titolo assurdo di questa celestiale opera.
Immaginare Nerone oggetto dell’incontro amoroso di una donna, è impossibile.
Poppea non è una dell’Esercito della Salvezza.
Preferisco farmi guidare dalla melodia magica impalpabile del Grande Unico Monteverdi
