Strikers 1945 - 1CC (1-ALL, P-51 Mustang, 833,300)

This run uses P51 Mustang and gameovers in 2-1 with 833,300 points.
Played as part of the La Calice Cup 8 shmup tournament.
Strikers 1945 is the first game in Psikyo's signature Strikers series and is one of their earliest titles. Despite the apparently straightforward WW2 setting, the game manages to inject a lot of character with its elaborate transforming bosses and surprise progression into scifi territory in the later levels.
The game has 8 stages, of which the first 4 are randomly ordered, which is a Psikyo tradition. Keeping with this theme, stage 7 selects from 1 of 3 potential midbosses and 1 of 3 main bosses, which also keeps things interesting (although the main boss can be manipulated by careful screen positioning).
It's relatively easy for a shmup 1CC, although I'm approaching it as someone experienced with the other strikers games, and with psikyo in general, so my perspective is a bit skewed. Most clears use the bf-109 ship, but I wanted to do something a little different, so i went with P51 Mustang. It has a unique charge attack that can erase enemy bullets, and reminded me a lot of Focke-Wulf in strikers 2, which is another ship that i enjoyed using.
Early Psikyo games are a bit unrefined so I wouldn't rank this as one of my alltimers, but there's definitely a very solid base here and Psikyo would later go on to develop it further in the excellent sequels Strikers 1945 II and Strikers 1999.

I normally use mame but in this case it was shmupmame 4.2 - runs early psikyo titles slightly better than regular mame

@@yagami999913 you can add side artwork/bezels in mame yeah but I've never actually done it so I'm not sure exactly how it works - as i said these were just images i added over the top when i was recording my gameplay in OBS
