I really miss home and I watch your videos to transport me back, thank you
One of the many aspects I enjoy about your recordings is the fact that it gives me another never previously seen perspective of areas that I know & love so much. I know the topography of pretty much all of the roads & lanes in these Weardale recordings intimately but seeing it all from above brings it all together in an new perspective. I join the dots to tracks & lanes & fields & regularly tramp around & sometimes create new walks off the back of these recordings too.
Its always great to dip back into these John & cheers for posting them up here.
Thank you. It's surprising how many things I walked or drove past over the years with no idea they were there until I started flying the drone. like you I got a new perspective on the world around me. I'm delighted that you're enjoying the videos.
Agree with you both, I know the area very well; ... or so I thought!
Cheers 👍
I see mine! Love this thankyou and very clear shots!
thank you, pleased you enjoyed it :)
Lovely video very nice filming.
Thank you very much :)
How did I miss this one? No notifications from your channel at all, strange You Tube phenomenon lol. Glad I checked out your channel as now I have 2 films to catch up on 👍 yeah..!. As always John I love being on-board your flights and this is another wonderful journey over this beautiful landscape full of history. I noticed railway lines, and just wondering if it is still used.? Your choice of music is amazing and so perfect for this journey. Loved every minute John, Thank you for sharing this with us. 😃👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you for watching and the lovely supportive comment Kim. Yes I get the same issue from time to time, I've no idea why it happens. The railway is used but just for special occasions these days, there's no regular timetable. It was originally opened in 1847 for freight and passengers from as far up the dale as Wearhead. Eventually its main use was to move cement from the Blue Circle cement works at Eastgate. www.weardale-railway.org.uk/history-of-the-line The beautiful music is Alan Piljak again (Thank you Alan) but I'm getting close to using everything he's posted online :)
Lovely! How to you control the drone over such a distance?
Thanks, it has a range of up to 4 miles, but I do much shorter flights and stitch them together when editing.
Quite a flight, what's the endurnace on it? :o)
Thanks. Battery time is 30 minutes but it's recommended by the manufacturer to keep a 30% charge in them in order to extend their lifetime. Range is around 4 miles max but very limited by radio or wifi interference, trees, hills, buildings etc.
