This one was so fun; they really stayed very true to the Mean Girls scene, with their own goofy spin on it, and an audience full of family. You already spotted Kathy, next to Jeff; Layne's wife Cyndi was the "cool mom" filming from the aisle, Eli's two-week old baby Asher made his Voiceplay debut in this in mama Ashley's arms, Layne's mom is in this, and Adriana's mom and little sister are in this as well. Congratulations on your marriage--real life takes priority over RUclips reactions!
Cesar, Layne, Kathy, Geoff (front row) Their new production assistant, Layne's wife (Cyndi), Adriana's sister, Adriana (middle row) Eli, his wife (Ashley) and their new baby (Asher), unsure(Eileen per the credits), Layne's mom (Gayle) (back row) Adriana's mom standing in the back. Filmed by Tony on his iPhone. Set is at Pattycake and was used in Geoff's cover of Way Down, and their last Christmas cover of "Christmas Don't Be Late". Oogie Boogie costume is the one Tony wore in Kidnap the Sandy Claws.
You are forgiven, your wedding had to take precedence. Congratulations!! The set has been used a few times, for Geoff's Way Down and Voiceplay's Christmas Don't Be Late and Friends on the Other Side. I had to go and watch Mean Girls version after I saw this. Layne wanted the choreography to be the same, step for step, as Mean Girls. He did a fantastic job.
Congratulations on your marriage. I hope you and your new wife will be very happy. It’s always easy to tell who Eli is - he’s the shortest of the group. In the audience he sits next to his wife Ashley, who is holding their (at the time of filming) one week old son Asher. Asher’s birth, plus the performances they did in Atlantic City led to a time crush and a lot of uncertainty about filming this. By the time the could set a date, there were no cameramen available. So Tony stepped in and not only directed, demonstrated and taught the dance, but his filmed it on his iPhone. He and Layne tried to keep it as close to the movie as possible. And you were right about the proscenium set at Pattycake. Geoff used it for Way Down and VoicePlay used it for last year’s Christmas Don’t Be Late. It’s also been used for Pattycake videos and for other singing groups.
Congratulations on your marriage! In the audience, you have all the singers, their families (Layne's wife, Cyndi, is the mom with the camera and she's actually filming herself dancing along), along with Kathy's assistant. You're right, Geoff did use this PattyCake Productions "theater" set for Way Down, and VoicePlay used it last year for Christmas Don't Be Late. Geoff previously portrayed Oogie Boogie in VoicePlay's cover of Oogie Boogie's Song from The Nightmare Before Christmas. He does an amazing job of recreating Ken Page's voice cadence, all the while making it his own.
Congratulations on getting married! 🎉 Yes, they get a lot of use out of this set piece. VP used it for Christmas Don't Be Late as well as Friends On the Other Side. Geoff used it for Way Down and Till Then (with dramatically different lighting). VP did Oogie Boogie's Song a few years ago and that costume was a lot easier for Geoff to wear. Tony wore this one for a brief appearance in Kidnap the Sandy Claws. When you react to VP and Geoff, remember to have the captions on. Because of Kathy's hearing loss, Geoff often puts funny stuff in the text.
Eli sitting beside his wife Ashlee who is hold their 2 week old baby. The blonde with the video camera is Layne's wife Cindy. Adriana's sisters are in the audience as well. Cesar in a red shirt, Geoff and Kathy obviously. The set's been in Geoff's Way Down, also in Friends on the Other Side. Geoff's solo Blue Christmas is like you've never heard it before.
Congratulations and merry Christmas!! Geoff did play Oogie in VP's Oogie Boogie cover, and he also had a couple of Oogie's lines in their cover of This Is Halloween.
How absolutely wonderful that you tied the knot! Congrats!!! I think others have covered any questions you voiced. I just wanted to echo your opinion that this one was mostly about VoicePlay's 'friends & family'. That makes it a bit special right from the start - especially with Eli's little son Asher's video debut in his Momma's (Ashley) arms! I can't imagine anyone not 'awwwing' over that! And I cannot believe that Layne's wife Cyndi isn't a teeny bit of a ham out of sheer self-defense considering to just whom she is married. That must be one really fun household! When VP asked for 'shorts' ideas and this song came up, someone almost immediately suggested 'Mean Girls'. And so, while this is a bit shorter than most of their covers, it is probably longer than it would have been otherwise. Geoff picked up on another short suggestion that was made and did "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on his channel, along with "Blue Christmas". I highly suggest reacting to those if you can. "Blue Christmas" took a funny and then hopeful turn, while "All I Want..." is just gorgeous! Wishing you and your new wife a perfect 'First Christmas' together. So good that you were able to fit a quick honeymoon in while school was out. And have a wonderful New Year, as well!
At first: Congratulations on your marriage! 🎉 (#beentheredonethat_2008 😆) I had to do a little research before enjoying the VP video, because "Mean Girls" isn't that popular in Germany as in the US (and as I recognized on YT as well). I had to get to know the original scene first, but with the knowledge from the movie, it doubled the fun and made this video really enjoyable watching. And yeah, you're right: This is more a "Fan Video" for those who know VP already and who enjoy the fun, catch the Christmas spirit with having their families in the audience etc. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your wife! 🎅🌲
Thanks for your reaction! Congratulations on your marriage and Merry Christmas to you and your wife! Yes, I agree with you about really enjoying this one even though it was not one of their masterpieces but it is special because it has a from my family to yours feel. Geoff has also just released his "Blue Christmas" cover and Omar Cardona has released his Christmas song with friends and family you will enjoy too.
The scene where Cyndi is holding the camera and you said it was pointing at the back of Geoff's head, I think it was pointing to her. I know at one point it does. It's in the behind the scenes. Loved the reaction and Congrats!!!! Happy Holidays!
Congratulations. It's quite easy to identify Layne from Eli. Layne is way taller than Eli. Santa is shorter even with the costume (thicker boot soles). Love Ceasar's facial expressions.
Only family and friends. Though Tony Wakim had to video this on his iPhone because they couldn't get a cameraman. They can't be stopped. Layne/Grinch, Geoff/Oogie Boogie, Eli/SandyClaws, and Cesar/Buddy Elf. That set has been use in many videos.
I don't know if you mean you've seen their Oogie Boogie song and just didn't react to it, but if you haven't seen it, that definitely belongs on your to do list. It's one of their best.

Incredible, thank you
The set is familiar from Geoff's cover of Way Down by Elvis. I think you'd really enjoy the Oogy Boogie video. Congratulations on the wedding.

I think they did amazing, especially given the time crunch!

Congratulations! Great reaction .Layne absolutely ran with this suggestion for a mini from a patron. So glad he did.
That's a high use set at Patty Cake studio, 'Friends On The Other Side,' and 'Geoff's 'Way On Down.'
congrats on your wedding, Geoff has a new cover Blue Christmas

Yes they re-use the sets a lot in the Pattycake studio. And yes Geoff did the Oogie Boogie song. If you haven't seen that one you really should.
It's on the ever growing list lol, Blue Christmas coming soon!

I am aware of it but haven't seen or reacted to it yet. It is on the to do list lol
yes that was a pattycake set which they have used in a lot of videos recently and did you see Eli’s new baby son
Congratulations on your marriage!
Thanks!
Getting married? What kind of excuse is that to miss VP? Congrats‼️‼️‼️
🤣🤣 That got a good laugh from me and the wife, thanks!
