This is helpful, i feel fortunate that basically all my addons worked after this except for collapsible fields which this new update already had in it, time for new awesome tools I can use! (Heatmap doesnt show up yet but i bet it is being worked on can't wait for future updates)
Personally my favourite changes made are the image resizer and the tags are now minimizable + have boxes around them
Thx AnKing big fan of all that you do for us! I noticed that u said previous editor add ons will be broken with this new editor, does all features of wrapper-meta add on still work? I noticed u still have it in ur editor. Specifically the Center left justify toggle, it’s super helpful. Cheers

its such a great update. love the image resizing option and being able to zoom while reviewing. Excited to try other new features. I have one problem, when taking a screenshot and pasting it in the fields, it doesn't work now. I have to save the image and add the image through the (attachment) button, which takes quite some time to do. Is there a way around it? Thank you so much for continuously working on this app. Your efforts are appreciated everywhere around the globe.
Do you have the 'Image Resizer" add-on enabled? That might be why

Great update. Is it possible to zoon in and out with a controller on this version? Any addon for it?
Zoom in/Zoom out is a big thing for me. I can use Anki with study rooms that have Tv's now if I'd like to reduce any neck pain. Don't need this all the time, but handy when I do need it
Great video! Have a quick question, I changed all my settings to match yours but when I go to learn a new card it says 15min for again, 1d for hard, 1d for good, and 8 day for easy. Any help on fixing the hard and good from both being 1 day even though it’s typed out differently?

one question: the image resizer just afects how the images are seen in the cards, right? it does not make them lighter or does it?
The image resizer add-on changes the actual image quality. The image resizer built into anki won't affect the actual file quality

Hi! Thank u for this vid. In my case, the hide field option doesn't work well. I mean, it only hides the field for the current card, if I close the card it doesn't hide it by default then.
How did you get the tags to look like that (11:39) where you can click on them and even x them out?
Hey, I've just started using anki and I have almost 3k cards in this deck. I have an average of 256% ease, but a 76% learning percentage and 85.6% young percentage. That's out of 451 cards so far. I've been studying for about a week straight. Do you possibly know what I can do to change my learning percentage? I heard 80-90 was the sweet spot so I'm a bit behind and I have no idea what to do.
When I have cards that I want to reveal all fields that are usually hidden, it auto-scrolls all the way to the bottom, but I have fields at the top that I want to view, forcing me to scroll up. In older versions of Anki, I did not have this issue, but I recently updated to Version 2.1.53. I already tried to edit the Cards field on the back template from < hr > to < hr id=answer > but it still does not fix the issue. Is there a fix to this issue?

Hi again! The new tts tag works fantastic with the computer cards, but then when i review the same cards on my phone, the audio is not there, and instead, I just see written the text from the field. Is there a way to fix this?
Is it better to try to learn the same card X times that I can't memorize or to put it off until tomorrow? What feature of Anki would allow you to do this?

The random cards orders of the subdecks did not work with me (Windows version)
That was my main concern with Anki! I always was like why do not they randomize the cards between the subdecks! And that what forced me to use only one main deck and then sub-tags! I feel like I wasted my time if this new feature works! :)
What happened to the "show learning cards with larger steps before reviews" button in preferences → scheduling go?
So I just downloaded the new version for Apple Silicone. Now at my "Select Profile" screen it freezes, with a pop-up window asking me to install Amboss Add-on updates. SOS.
Is there a way to review my due cards first then do the cards in the learning process? (thought one of the new settings did that, but it does not seem to work)
Like in your recommended settings, when I do a new card and get it right it comes as a learning card the next day, but I want to do my review cards (green ones) before I do the learning card (brown one).

In ios, there is an option to choose either ‘mixed’, ‘review first’ or new cards first. I’m not sure about the recent update, but I wasn’t able to do that from either Windows or Android (that I could find).
A workaround I found is to go to settings for the specific deck you want to study, set new cards for the day to 0, review all cards in the deck, reset the learning cards to 9999 (or the number of cards you want to learn), and restudy the deck.

Nobody seems to make a video about how to deal with old decks. To me, personally, it is impossible to keep up with old cards on which I've been already tested and at the same time reviewing new cards about the new semester. Am I the only one ?
I tried multiple strategies but none of them work. So I had to forget all the old cards and start again with different settings and long steps between each repetition. It would be of an immense help if you could do a video about it sir.

Hi I just knew found out your channel. I have a question and hope you can help me. (i have took a glimpse of your videos and there is no video of this topic but if you do please tell)
I am a teacher(language teacher) and I want my students to use Anki but i want to make it easier for them because learning to use anki completely took a lot of effort, even I that have used it for years for my own learning still have much to learn.
What I want to do is I want to create cards for them and update it frequently, for example every week or after every class I will create 10-20 new cards for them .
So my question is, what is the best way to share the cards I created to my students?(small group of students,less than 10 students each class)?

Hey I paste math equations from website inspect menu (full Java script code ) for each and every card i can't paste that same style is there any way to paste a common style for all cards since style is for 600 lines so anki hangs if I put that same to 600 lines ...if I don't add style the formulae get fucked up like 1/3 13 like this two time it shows

can i ask how anki is better going from qt5 to qt6? and you recommend qt5 for both windows and mac right?
It's just a newer version of pyqt. It doesn't really affect anki's performance much for now, but pyqt6 breaks a lot of addons
Is it possible to prioritize cards? Like after an exam I'll get new lecture material for the week, I want to see new cards relevant to that material instead of having to go through older review cards. I have weekly exams so there isn't time to crank out older review cards. I don't like how custom study removes the cards from the deck after you answer them, and I don't want to change the deck the cards are in and mess with the anking organization.
I would make smaller desks nested under a larger deck. That way, you can study a test or lecture’s worths of material by studying a subdeck - or even less if you would like, while avoiding other decks. One thing I like to do after finals is to move decks I won’t need to study under a ‘Previous Semester’
i have anki 2.1.54 but when i try to use night mode i can not find it
Used "edit during review cloze" addon in the new update ( tried both q5 &q6 on mac) .... after making the change in review when i hit good it shows error " invalid input:not on the top of que" after ignoring it and press space again there is no responce ...card seems to freeze unless its burried to next day
i think the error part is the problem with the addon put in previous version ignoring it and pressing space anyway seems to work fine

I don't see the display order in my options, using the q6 mac version and review heatmap isn't working either but I see that it's already noted as broken for this version
Heatmap was updated yesterday. Get the one on ankiweb.

I️ start med school this fall and I️ had downloaded Anki and the latest anking deck in January and set it up according to the video recommendations. If I️ update my Anki to this version, will it affect the deck? I’m scared to update it and mess it up. I’m not very familiar with all the nuances of the program.

Sir,i am practicing maths.Say there are 3 chapters Algebra,Trigo,Geometry.I want to make flash cards .Say in 3 chapters there are 10 types of questions each.I want to practice all types of 3 chapters.How to make ankii flascards so that i get 1 question from every type from all 3 chapters.Say in every type ,i have around 5 similar questions but just the data is different which would help me to practice well everyday staying in touch with all the types.

The only problem that I see is the buggy input of special characters. When I write in Greek sometimes it’s buggy on Mac OS. For example in the word “Παθολογία” the “ί” doesn’t appear.

Aw that's too bad to hear. Have you reported it on the Anki Forums? I imagine it will be fixed soon
@@AnKingMed I don’t have to since it’s stated in the 2.1.50 (it persists through .52) release notes. When that happens, I just copy paste the word from google. Text that is already written is fine.

Nice update, but it seems that I have to click twice for every color or other font change. Very annoying!
Until/unless AutoEaseFactor works with a new version, no upgrades for me. That plugin is so much what the algorithm should be doing natively that it's almost not worth using Anki without it.
Out of curiosity, what makes you trust this over SM-2? SM2 (although old) was actually based in statistical evidence by my understanding. This add-on is based on someone's theory. I've seen many complaints about the anki algorithm, yet all data I've seen on it shows that it's actually superior to other methods, including later Supermemo algorithms. I actually am very interested in researching this myself and potentially implementing new and better algorithms that are altered by artificial intelligence so please don't take this comment as me telling you that you're wrong. I'm genuinely interested why you like it so much and would love to further explore this
They are some people trying to have auto ease factor on the latest anki version but scheduler v3 breaks it atm. You can see people progress on by checking the forks section on Auto Ease Factor.
