His dad was only two inches taller and was probably the best player GW ever had. Killer defender, shooter, passer, and averaged 5.7 boards a game one year in a decent league. A-10 player of the year and Naismith Award winner in 1999, and had a solid international career.

Nelly is a floor general that can finish in traffic and has a solid outside jumpshot. On defense he is somewhat of a liability for bigger lineups but its a match up on both ends because he has D1 speed.
I hate that he's only 5'2. That'll probably be the only reason he doesn't get far. But you never know.

The reality is, size matters in basketball. It's a tall man's game no doubt. If you're really short (for instanced 5 ft 2) then you have to be incredibly skilled to keep up with the much taller opponents. He can do high school but can be compete in a higher level? If he goes to a higher level like div 1 or NBA, it will be difficult. If's he's not incredibly quick or talented, he wont even make the team. Unfortunately no one can change their height once they're done and all diminutive basketball players probably wish the most they were taller. That's why I stick with soccer, it doesn't matter if you're 5 ft 2 or 6 ft 2. If you're quick with the ball and are skilled, you can do just fine.
rswarchannel well in soccer and almost any other games for that matter, height also plays a part. defenders and goalies preferably need to be taller for example. Also if you are something extreme like 6'6 and above, soccer would be too awkward

It's no way this kid is going to the league at 5'2.
His shot would get blocked EVERY time by NBA defenders, even little Nate or Isaiah Thomas could body him and block every jump shot of his.
I'm not being negative but this isn't the 90's anymore, players are stronger, faster and more athletic than they were when Muggsy Bogues played and he's even shorter than him and not as athletic.

But can he defend a 6'4" guard in the NBA. Thats the only thing with these small players. They can score but defending assignments will always be a liability. Its not impossible. Mugsy at 5'3" had a long NBA career. But hes the only person under 5'5" that made it to the NBA

You forgot about Earl Boykins at 5 ft and 5 inches and when he used to play in the NBA. The reason he stayed around so long was because he could shoot lights out. he was also a little thief too as I would watch him pick the ball from bigger and taller players.
