    This is so fascinating! Please thank your vet for his willingness to be on camera and explain all of this. I think it is so good for people who aren’t super familiar with animal husbandry to learn about these things. Gives us a better appreciation for responsible breeders.

      I agree 100%. I love horses, but since finding Katie I've learned ssooo much I never knew and mad respect for her and her family in what they do. You can tell all their animals are treated as family members not just cash makers. ❤

      If someone came up to me while I was working and asked to film me for a RUclips video, I'd probably say no just because a lot of youtubers would take that as an opportunity to sensationalized everything and get in the way of work.
      I'm glad that isn't the case here. It's just two professionals in their field having intelligent conversation and doing their jobs, and just documenting the whole thing. It's so nice to see. No crappy sound effects or youtuber-style yelling or constant merch plugs. Just people being people and documenting their interesting jobs😊

    If had the room and money I WOULD so take and Indy baby. ONE because I LOVE horses and I love her looks and name. I also have a rooster named Indy lol. I would use it for just riding and spoil it to the moon and back. If I was younger and better health I would show and compete. If I have the money an room and someone wanted to train on the younger horse and compete with it then I would let them. As some of my friends have horses and let younger kids ride and do that with their horses as it helps keep them fit and gives the kids 1. something to do 2 and teaches them responsibility 3. teaches them a lot of things in life. Hope all goes well with what ever plans you decided on.

    Hey Katie. So I’m just wondering. Can you breed the mares later in the year. For example like May June July etc etc. or is the beginning of the year the best time.

    • @victoriareinbold8322
      @victoriareinbold8322 Год назад +2

      Yes you can breed. Warmer climates breed for august and October when the weather is more mild. With quarter horses, they all age January first according to the rules. So if you horse is born in July, they will be considered a yearling in January when they are actually 6 months old. For the 2/3 year old classes, those 6 months of maturing matters so early babies are more desirable
