I will admit right from the start that this is my favorite Corvette when it comes to looks. This car still drives smooth with 80K miles. I'm 6.4" and there is plenty of leg room and the trunk is way bigger than what i expected.

Love the C5 even if people give the car crap about the interior or radio. I could care less about either.
It's still a good car for the price. Highly underrated. If this c5 had the interior of the c8 it would be my favorite car
@@LawsonsCarReviews The C8 interior is pretty to look at but I sat in one and it's too claustrophobic for me. It really isolatie you from the passenger. I do like the DCT on the C8.
Not sat in one yet but it's meant to be now exotic so I think that's why it's that way. I'll get in one soon

Lol very true. I actually may have hit triple digits a few times in this car really quickly. It's no slouch because it's really light
Ive always loved the C5, esp the later years, 02,03,04. The styling is a nice change from the dated Mako shark look, but still has the cool pop ups. The whining about the interior is a so what thing, it’s a product of its time, non issue. But yeah, the coupe is the way to go!
I agree great car. And it is a product of it's time but it's only fair I mention the good and the bad as I review cars. I gotta be unbiased. And to be fair Chevy was way behind the times for interior quality even back then especially to European car makers. But in new Corvettes and Camaro etc they are totally much improved.

I just bought a yellow 02 convertible back in sept from a private collection only 12400 mi. Im keeping it forever.
They are gonna go up in value as electric takes over
NO WAY, convertible is way better than the coupe and is also worth more.
Looks are subjective but it's hard to find a soft top that is in perfect condition with the roof. I couldn't take the top down though because it was freezing when i did this review.

Good review. Love everything you say about the America's sports car. I've got a 2004. Leman's edition. Convertible. You've got a good interior showing. Bought mine back in 2015 and 80,000 MI. Love every minute of it. Remember, it's a Corvette. The only problem I've had is with the pop-up headlights. Wait until one of the gears go and then they don't pop up so happily. $100 later everything's okay
$100 is not bad at all to fix the light. It's more than worth the cost to have those killer lights! As I've said before the C5 exterior with the new C8 interior would be my dream car.

I’m going to look at one that’s been keyed and has some backed fees with 140 on the dash for $4,500 a must cop if it drives nice😂

The top is in great shape. I live in the South convertible is good all year round.
Its not a Knight Rider car, that's a Pontiac Trans Am, which has back seats, the Corvette is a pure roadster with only 2 seats. The C5 Corvette convertible is much more closely related to the Ferrari Daytona Spyder convertible that was shown for the first 2 seasons of Miami Vice in 1984 and 1985. They actually used a Corvette back then during the filming of Miami Vice to replicate the Ferrari Daytona Spyder.
i know its not the knight rider car lol. It's black, sleek, with pop up lights so it reminds me of a modern version of it, thats what i meant

The c5 is a better car than the c4.

The window buttons are made specifically for Corvette and we're not out of a Camaro or a Pontiac of the same era.
Hey I love this car. But I have to keep it real. The radio is identical to the ones in the Pontiacs grand prix and grand am etc and if the ac and window switches are similar if not the same. It's just an observation not a fact though. But hey look where the quality is now on the new vette!
bought a 2002 cont brand new ... it still looks great but , oil pressure gauge is typical, I have a intermittant electrical issue that turns off the traction control at random times, but since I don't use it I don't care...car looks like the one in the video except I have black wheels and a 6 speed. can't replace it for what I can sell it for and it runs and looks great so why go into debt...waiting for the mid-engine ones to be resold after the initial craze.plus 4.3 to 60 easy
If you have the room, i say keep this one for life. I honestly over time if you look after it it's gonna start to go up in price. Especially as they are slowly trying to kill of V8 cars for these stupid EV cars

Quite the hood slam. If you just set it down and then gently but firmly press down at the latch points on both sides, you'll get much more life out of both.
I just went back and looked, I did not slam the hood. Bare in mind I was also doing this with one hand while holding the camera!
