I do think that the Akuski are cooler, but I really doubt stronger. Seriously Ulqiora is basically a jubi jinjriki in second forum, and Grimjawl is still relavevnt in the war arc.
I mean, in general the Espada have stronger members. Zetsu, Hidan, and Conan couldnt handle even the worst of the Espada. But if you put the Espada up against Pain, Itachi, and Obito its over. Ulqiora, Grimmjow, Stark, and Yami(the ones who we see the most screentime from to get a good idea of their true power) couldnt handle those 3. And thats not even mentioning if you include Orochimaru or "Taka". And no you can't include Aizen as he isnt an Espada, he is a Soul Reaper that revolted.

About that powerscaling thing: You are actually right. I can recommend some of Seth the Programmers videos about bleach scaling. He even made a video about the Naruto vs. Bleach death battle. Anyways, according to him (and some other channels aswell) since ichigo was able to SPOILER ALERT! Cut yhwach while in shikai, that would put his shikai at planet buster level during that arc.
My take? The espada beat the akatsuki handily. Cause like, only three of them actually have the ability to even touch them; they are physically manifested souls. Only ones who have the potential to do anything to them are itachi, pain, and Tobi, and even then, that's assuming that they are fast enough to react to them.

If they're soul then the Reaper Death Seal would just seal them instead of anything else. Also Rinnegan users can pull people in their direction and you can't get out of it unless you saw it coming to begin with, Nagato touches Halibel and rips whatever out of her or just destroys in an instant because again if she's a soul it would just kill or seal them instantaneously.

Not only the war arc is coming, Kubo will finally get to due what he wants. His editors were rushing him, so alot of development he wanted to do was set aside.
The Espada and The Akatsuki fight in two very different ways. The Akatsuki are ninjas, they each have their own techniques. Itachi focuses on illusions. Kisame slowly shaves away the opponent’s body or tears his opponents apart. Sasori is all about poison. Deidara is all about explosions. Kakuzu combines different ninjutsu to create stronger attacks (he also sucks at naming his attacks). Hidan uses his ritual to inflict lethal wounds on his opponent. Zetsu disguises himself as an ally of the opponent. Konan uses her paper to imitate weaponry and manipulates explosive tags. Pain is a full frontal fighter with the ability to revive anyone that dies near him. Tobi uses his intangibility to get close enough to suck the opponent into his pocket dimension. Also, Orochimaru was once a member. The Espada, on the other hand, are all based around the same general thing. Destruction. Sure they each have their own techniques but it’s all based around how much destruction they can cause. It would be an interesting fight. Sheer destructive power VS Variance in abilities. My money’s on the Akatsuki. They have too many hax abilities.

I go for the espadas because they are truly powerful villains they got so much power can be smart and their trandformation unrival anything for naruto. I could be wrong though just my opinion
Barragan would destroy the Akatsuki by himself, that Respira is no joke. It ages anything it touches to dust and it's an AOE passive ability. When he puts actual effort into it, entire city blocks are gone. Hidan would turn to dust, Zetsu would die, even Obito would die. The only chance they have is Itachi and his genjutsu but that won't do anything since Respira would age Itachi's chakra, causing the genjutsu to fail since it needs chakra control to work. I doubt Sharingan would do anything anyway since Barragan is a Hollow and it's nowhere near as powerful as Kyoka Suigetsu's complete hypnosis.

Bleach was not canceled to my knowledge. There is another part of the Manga that was never animated and they were working on it last I knew. That was like 5 maybe 6 months ago now
Asuna • 1) the akatsuki can’t see them except for maybe Pain and obito because of the rinnegan. 2) most the espada are quicker due to their sonído, they are much more durable thanks to their Hierro and Ulquiorra can regenerate from a lot of their attacks. 3) Baraggan’s respira would decay any akatsuki member or attack.
